“Those allegations \u2026 form part of an existing workplace grievance that the university needs to deal with and deal with it appropriately,”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
she said.<\/p>\n
“Now that that is in a more public domain, that requires us to manage it slightly differently than we would have in the past. And I am really not going to comment on that while it proceeds on.<\/p>\n
“I think it is hugely important to us as an institution that there is fairness for everyone involved in that and that there is procedural fairness.”<\/p>\n
She also said that the ANU Council had choices to make about how it managed work practices and culture.<\/p>\n
“We take all of those things really seriously.”<\/p>\n
“We will continue to work on our culture and our practices and find ways to continue to get better at what we do.”<\/p>\n
She said the ANU had submitted a response to the higher education regulator, which is demanding ANU defend the conduct of its council, amid concerns it failed to competently oversee the institution’s operations.<\/p>\n
“We have completed that report and submitted it to [the Tertiary Education and Quality Standards Agency] last night as requested and required,” Professor Bell said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
