London-based Yondr Group, a global developer, owner, and operator of hyperscale data centers, has acquired a 163-acre site in Lancaster just south of Dallas to develop a campus with the capacity to accommodate 550MW critical IT load, the company announced.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Yondr said the project marks a milestone in its U.S. expansion. Located in one of the nation\u2019s most sought-after data center corridors, the campus is slated to break ground in 2026.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe U.S. is a key market for Yondr\u2019s next phase of growth, and Dallas is one of the largest and fastest-growing data center markets in the world,\u201d newly appointed Yondr CEO Aaron Wangenheim said in a statement. \u201cThis investment in Dallas is just the beginning. Our proven ability to deliver reliable, resilient, and sustainable data center solutions at scale\u2014backed by the strength of our investors DigitalBridge and La Caisse\u2014positions us incredibly well to support clients in tier 1 markets where they need us.\u201d<\/p>\n

Yondr said the acquisition is its first announced expansion under Wangenheim, signaling an ambitious growth strategy.<\/p>\n

Growing North American footprint<\/p>\n

The Dallas site joins Yondr\u2019s growing North American footprint, which includes two data centers totaling 96MW in Northern Virginia and a 27MW data center in Toronto, Canada. Yondr also said it is in advanced discussions for sites in several other tier 1 U.S. metros, as it continues to expand in Europe, where the company has existing assets in London, Frankfurt, and Amsterdam.<\/p>\n

In addition to job creation, Yondr said the project is expected to generate \u201csignificant tax revenue\u201d for the region and open opportunities for local suppliers and contractors throughout construction and operations.<\/p>\n

Lancaster Mayor Clyde Hairston said his city is \u201cdelighted to welcome Yondr, a respected data center developer and operator, to Lancaster. Yondr has pledged to create full-time jobs as a result of this project and provide significant financial support for local events and community initiatives.\u201d<\/p>\n
