Jannik Sinner continues his 2025 season at Wimbledon, with the main draw set to get underway at the end of June.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Carlos Alcaraz has been backed for Wimbledon success over Sinner<\/a>, after the duo just played out the French Open final.<\/p>\n

It was Alcaraz who triumphed at Roland Garros, ensuring he and Sinner<\/a> now represent each of the last six Grand Slam champions.<\/p>\n

Sinner won the Australian Open in January, and remains top of the ATP<\/a> rankings despite serving a three-month ban afterwards.<\/p>\n

Alcaraz is a close second to the Italian in the world rankings, with Alexander Zverev, Jack Draper and Taylor Fritz completing the top five.<\/p>\n

Sinner has practised with Aryna Sabalenka<\/a> ahead of Wimbledon, and has now received advice from former world number one Jimmy Connors<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Speaking on Advantage Connors, the American said: \u201cThere is a lot of talk about it [him losing to Alcaraz] and if you are not careful you can let that talk creep into your head.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt would be better for him to put earplugs in and not listen to anybody, not read the press or listen to the press or listen to anything going on and take care of his business.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs quick as they are to build you up, they are even quicker to knock you down. The only thing I can relate to going back is that they had me out of the game when I was 27 years old.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had won my titles, I couldn\u2019t win any more, I was getting too old, I wasn\u2019t good enough and these other guys were getting better.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you listen to that, that will take you down in a hurry. You have to know who you are and what you are and what you have to offer and continue to work.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you continue to work and grind, what goes up must come down. What comes down also bounces back up.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not saying he is down, he lost a final at Roland Garros. I mean, really? One of the biggest tournaments!<\/p>\n

\u201cSo he goes right away to grass, it\u2019s a change, the surface is different and the movement is different, the ball bounces differently.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have got a feeling that with the practice week that he has right before the tournament starts, I have no doubt he will be ready to play [at Wimbledon].\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Sinner likely doesn\u2019t need such advice at this stage of his career, having already won three Grand Slam titles.<\/p>\n

The Italian is only 23 years old, and so is very likely to continue claiming wins at the very highest level of men\u2019s tennis.<\/p>\n

He would certainly be wise to avoid any discussion of his ability or rivalry with Alcaraz, but again it seems that the world number one simply does not bother himself with such talk anyway.<\/p>\n

Sinner always looks in full control of his emotions and is well aware of his ability, but also of just how dangerous his fierce rival is.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

But it definitely doesn\u2019t hurt to have insight from such an established player, with Sinner currently well short of Connors\u2019s ATP title count.<\/p>\n

Sinner can be full of confidence going into Wimbledon despite his French Open final heartache, having lost just three matches all season.<\/p>\n
