The hit-and-run crash happening near Ashland and Cullerton in the Pilsen neighborhood, where a memorial for the 22-year-old has continued to grow as do the calls for justice.<\/p>\n
Together, the group marched their message from the police station to where Marcela died, hosting a vigil in her honor before canvassing the neighborhood with the one clue that may help them find her killer: a surveillance photo SUV that fled the scene and devastated an entire community.<\/p>\n
“Marcela deserved to live. She deserved to walk the neighborhood without fear. She deserved justice and help. We are not stopping until the driver is found. We want justice for Marcela now,” one of Marcela’s childhood friends said.<\/p>\n
CrimeStoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information that could lead to an arrest.<\/p>\n
ABC7 reached out to CPD, and they say they have no updates in this case.<\/p>\n
