A man was killed and another man was injured in a double shooting in South Philadelphia late Tuesday night.<\/p>\n
Philadelphia police responded to a reported shooting on the 600 block of Mountain Street shortly after 11:30 p.m. When they arrived, they found a 23-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the shoulder as well as a 37-year-old man nearby on the sidewalk who was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds throughout his body.<\/p>\n
Both men were taken to the hospital. The 37-year-old man \u2013 who has not yet been identified \u2013 was pronounced dead at 12:12 a.m. The 23-year-old man is in stable condition, police said.<\/p>\n
Three parked and unattended vehicles in the area were also struck by gunfire.<\/p>\n
A resident, who did not want to be identified, told NBC10 he heard the shooting.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was bad. It was a lot of shots,\u201d the man said. \u201cAnd it was odd for this part. Like there hasn\u2019t been nothing for this neighborhood, in this particular area, in a while.\u201d<\/p>\n
Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small told NBC10 investigators found more than 30 spent shell casings on the sidewalk as well as a semiautomatic handgun at the scene of the shooting.<\/p>\n
Police have not released a description of any suspects in the shooting. Investigators did find several nearby properties with surveillance video, however.<\/p>\n
