Former Nokia CEO Pekka Lundmark is joining Finnish quantum computing company Qmill as both an investor and a board member, according to a statement reported by Reuters.<\/p>\n
\nQmill, headquartered in Finland, launched its operations last year. In addition to bringing Lundmark on board, former Nokia executive Antti Vasara has also stepped in as chairman of the board.<\/p>\n
\nQuantum computing is rapidly emerging as a promising sector, with numerous startups collaborating with technology giants like Microsoft and Nvidia to develop functional computers capable of solving problems that would take conventional computers thousands of years.<\/p>\n
\nLundmark stepped down as Nokia’s CEO this spring, having taken over the role in 2020.
