Something is broken,\u201d Ford said at a press conference on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI know if someone breaks into my house or someone else\u2019s, you\u2019re gonna fight for your life. You\u2019re going to use whatever force you can to protect your family. I know everyone would.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ford\u2019s comments come after <a href=\"https:\/\/globalnews.ca\/news\/11341209\/ontario-homeowner-assault-charge\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kawartha Lakes Police Service charged a 44-year-old man<\/a> with aggravated assault and assault with a weapon.<\/p>\n<p>The charges stem from an incident on Aug. 18, when police were called to an apartment for reports of an altercation between two men.<\/p>\n<p>Story continues below advertisement<\/p>\n<p>Police said the resident woke up to find a man inside his home. A struggle broke out, leaving the alleged intruder with life-threatening injuries.
