\n\tTramell Tillman<\/a> is heading from the severed floor to the streets of New York City. The Emmy-nominated actor is joining the cast of Sony and Marvel\u2019s \u201cSpider-Man: Brand New Day<\/a>,\u201d Variety has learned exclusively.<\/p>\n

\n\tDetails on Tillman\u2019s character in the web-slinging adventure remain under wraps, but he\u2019ll join Tom Holland\u2019s Spider-Man, Zendaya\u2019s M.J. Jones-Watson, Jacob Batalon\u2019s Ned Leeds, Jon Bernthal\u2019s Punisher and Mark Ruffalo\u2019s Hulk, plus additional cast members Sadie Sink and Liza Col\u00f3n-Zayas in mysterious new roles.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe fourth film in the Holland-led Spidey franchise is set to release in theaters on July 31, 2026. \u201cShang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings\u201d filmmaker Destin Daniel Cretton will direct \u201cSpider-Man: Brand New Day.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tTillman currently stars as Seth Milchick in the award-winning Apple TV+ series \u201cSeverance.\u201d For his role, he has received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, as well as SAG\u00a0and Independent Spirit Award nominations. This spring, Tillman starred opposite Tom Cruise in\u00a0\u201cMission: Impossible \u2013 The Final Reckoning,\u201d which had its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival.<\/p>\n

\n\tTillman is currently in production on the Amazon\/MGM film \u201cYour Mother Your Mother Your Mother\u201d\u00a0and\u00a0Lena Dunham\u2019s Netflix film \u201cGood Sex.\u201d\u00a0His additional film credits include HBO Max\u2019s\u00a0\u201cSweethearts\u201d\u00a0and the crime drama \u201cBarron\u2019s Cove.\u201d\u00a0His television credits include Marti Noxon\u2019s AMC series \u201cDietland,\u201d \u201cGodfather of Harlem\u201d and \u201cHunters.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn 2024, Tillman starred with Neil Patrick Harris, Debra Messing, Jane Krakowski, Constance Wu and Garret Dillahunt in Manhattan Class Company\u2019s \u201cShit. Meet. Fan.\u201d In 2022, he\u00a0starred opposite Sean Hayes in the Goodman Theater\u2019s \u201cGood Night, Oscar.\u201d\u00a0Tillman originated the role of Alvin and continued to serve as creative consultant for the Broadway production. He made his Broadway debut in \u201cThe Great Society\u201d\u00a0(Vivian Beaumont) alongside Brian\u00a0Cox. Before that, he starred in \u201cCarmen Jones\u201d\u00a0(CSC) opposite Anika Noni Rose. Tillman is a residing member of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, where he helped launch the Tony nominated play \u201cSweat\u201d\u00a0by Lynn Nottage. He continued performing his lead role at the Arena Stage in Washington, D.C. Tillman currently resides in New York City.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn a Variety cover story<\/a> earlier this month, Tillman reflected on his rising star and making Emmys history as the first openly gay Black man to be recognized in the supporting actor drama category. \u201cI\u2019m not playing small for nobody. I\u2019m not dimming my light for anybody,\u201d he said. \u201cI have spent years doing that, and those days are done. Myself, stepping into that level of thinking and embodying, that is my own form of revolution.\u201d<\/p>\n
