{"id":162184,"date":"2025-08-20T22:16:18","date_gmt":"2025-08-20T22:16:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/162184\/"},"modified":"2025-08-20T22:16:18","modified_gmt":"2025-08-20T22:16:18","slug":"mayor-adams-aide-ingrid-lewis-martin-to-face-new-charges-sources","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/162184\/","title":{"rendered":"Mayor Adams&#8217; aide Ingrid Lewis-Martin to face new charges: sources"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mayor Eric Adams\u2019 longtime adviser and campaign confidant Ingrid Lewis-Martin is expected to face even more charges for allegedly accepting bougie handouts in exchange for political favors, The Post has learned.<\/p>\n<p>Sources with knowledge of the fresh set of charges told The Post that prosecutors will accuse Lewis-Martin of accepting a series of high-end meals and other handouts in exchange for favorable treatment from the administration on redevelopment plans.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities were also probing whether the businessmen picked up the tab for some of <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/12\/21\/us-news\/nyc-mayor-adams-ex-aid-ingrid-lewis-martin-hosts-nyc-toy-drive-sings-beyonces-cuff-it-day-after-she-was-hit-with-bribery-charges\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lewis-Martin\u2019s well-known karaoke parties<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Ingrid Lewis-Martin is expected to face the new charges on Thursday. Steven Hirsch<\/p>\n<p>The latest charges are part of a new criminal case that has yet to be made public and is not expected to be tacked onto her existing indictment.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The new indictment will also name Adams\u2019 prot\u00e9g\u00e9 and his Deputy Commissioner of Real Estate Services, Jesse Hamilton, and Lewis-Martin\u2019s son, Glenn Martin II.<\/p>\n<p>Prominent\u00a0Adams backers Gina and Tony Argento \u2014 a pair of siblings\u00a0who run the massive sound stages across the city and have close ties to Lewis-Martin \u2014 are also expected to be named.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, a third businessperson will be implicated, but their name was not known on Wednesday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The details of the indictment were not immediately clear, but sources believed the case to be connected to the\u00a0McGuinness Boulevard revamp across Greenpoint.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile the specifics remain unclear, Ingrid is certain of one thing\u2014she has broken no laws, and she is not guilty,\u201d said her attorney Arthur Aidala. \u201cWe will be requesting an expedited trial schedule.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The former top Adams administration official had her home raided last year by the Manhattan District Attorney\u2019s Office and her phones seized after returning from an overseas vacation.<\/p>\n<p>She abruptly resigned <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/12\/15\/us-news\/eric-adams-top-aide-ingrid-lewis-martin-abruptly-resigns-in-latest-city-hall-shakeup\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">from City Hall over a weekend in mid-December <\/a>\u2014\u00a0weeks before she had planned to step down and days <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/12\/15\/us-news\/adams-top-aide-ingrid-lewis-martin-expected-to-be-indicted-as-probes-swirl-sources\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">before charges against her <\/a>were unsealed.<\/p>\n<p>Lewis-Martin allegedly traded favors with a pair of hoteliers in exchange for $100,000 in bribes that were <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/12\/19\/us-news\/nyc-mayor-eric-adams-top-aide-ingrid-lewis-martin-surrenders-to-authorities-on-bribery-charges\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">used to buy a Porsche<\/a> for her son \u2014 who goes by DJ Suave Luciano.<\/p>\n<p>The mother-son duo were named in the indictment, along with hotel magnates Mayank Dwivedi and real estate investor Raizada Vaid.<\/p>\n<p>Eric Adams has stood by his longtime friend (center right) despite the charges.
