\n\tAfter A Minecraft Movie<\/a> broke multiple records on its way to $995M globally, Kirsten Dunst<\/a> wants to join the franchise.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Oscar nominee recently threw her hat in the ring for a part in Warner Bros<\/a> sequel, noting that her kids loved the original big screen adaptation of the video game, and she wants to be part of a financially successful movie.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cMaybe I can just make a movie where I don\u2019t lose money?\u201d said Dunst to Town & Country<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tDirector Jared Hess<\/a> previously told Deadline a Minecraft Movie sequel \u201cwould be so much fun<\/a>\u201d after the first movie\u2019s record-breaking box office haul<\/a> kicked off in April, becoming Warner Bros\u2019 third largest opening of all time.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe had so much fun making this movie, and it\u2019s such an expansive world in the game, and there were so many things that we didn\u2019t tap into that we wanted to,\u201d explained Hess. \u201cI would have a blast doing the sequel, and it seems like there\u2019s already talk about it happening, so I\u2019m super excited. It\u2019ll be so much fun to go back into the world. The fans are just having such a good time. We teased it in the end credits, and the fans seem to be going wild for it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAfter teasing \u201cthe other massively critical character\u201d from the game, Alex, at the end of the original, Hess noted, \u201cIt\u2019s Steve (Jack Black<\/a>) and Alex, and so that\u2019s the one that we will be bringing to the table without a doubt.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAlthough Kate McKinnon<\/a> voiced Alex in the scene, the character\u2019s face isn\u2019t shown. Perhaps Dunst could return to her MJ red hair for the part in the sequel.<\/p>\n

\n\tDunst\u2019s last theatrical release was Alex Garland<\/a>\u2018s Civil War<\/a> (2024), which surpassed $127M worldwide, marking A24<\/a>\u2018s best opening ever<\/a> at $25.7M.
