Sorey, Jeremy Adamic, Dr. Alaina Vincent, and Randy Phelps [Photos: OSPRI]<\/p>\n<p><strong>A $30 million merger among Community Direct DX (CDx), Scienetix, and the R&amp;D division of Advanta Genetics has formed McKinney-based OSPRI, a next-generation biotechnology company and \u201cone of the world\u2019s first fully vertically integrated\u201d molecular testing platforms.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>OSPRI specializes in polymerase chain reaction (PCR)-based infectious disease detection, and it develops and delivers advanced tools that improve access to high-quality care across key healthcare segments\u2014including women\u2019s health, primary care, urgent care, urology, hospitals, and clinical reference laboratories.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPCR testing is foundational for infectious disease detection, but cost and complexity have kept it out of reach for many,\u201d Co-founder Steve Sorey, partner at OSPRI, said in a statement. \u201cTo unlock widespread adoption, we must reduce both. At OSPRI, we\u2019re obsessed with doing more with less\u2014making PCR faster, cheaper, and better for everyone involved.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In addition to assay development, OSPRI said it delivers an end-to-end solution\u2014covering manufacturing, lab buildout, revenue cycle management, and regulatory support\u2014empowering providers to operate high-complexity labs in-house with greater speed, accuracy, and financial control.<\/p>\n<p>Funding and leadership<\/p>\n<p>OSPRI said it\u2019s backed by up to $30 million of strategic funding from Catalio Capital Management, a healthcare investment firm with deep expertise in diagnostics. This partnership will support OSPRI\u2019s continued growth, platform development, and national expansion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOSPRI delivers a powerful solution for physician groups and laboratories\u2014simplifying infectious disease testing while creating strong clinical and commercial value,\u201d Catalio Partner Jonathan Blankfein said in a statement. \u201cWe\u2019re proud to support their mission to expand access to rapid, provider-centric diagnostics.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>OSPRI\u2019s scientific leadership includes Chief Science Officer Dr. Rahul Sharma, Chief Innovation Officer Dr. Sadia Almas, and Chief Clinical Officer Dr. Alaina Vincent.<\/p>\n<p>Redefining PCR testing<\/p>\n<p>The company said its technology is redefining PCR testing through:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>20\u201350% reduction in overall testing costs<\/li>\n<li>50\u201370% decrease in testing time and workflow steps<\/li>\n<li>Up to 4x increase in testing capacity<\/li>\n<li>Customized assays tailored to provider specialty and patient population<\/li>\n<li>Reduced lab errors through simplified workflows<\/li>\n<li>A comprehensive menu of 80+ PCR tests covering 250+ pathogens and AMR genes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<br \/>\nEnabling \u2018better, faster care\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Founded in 2015, Community Direct DX has launched more than 60 labs nationwide. Scienetix brings deep expertise in molecular bioengineering, while Advanta R&amp;D has led advancements in high-resolution genomics and contributed to national public health initiatives.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur production capabilities have grown exponentially,\u201d OSPRI Co-Founding Partner Jeremy Adamic said in a statement. \u201cFrom a limited menu and basic QC, we now deliver over 40,000 tests per day with multilayered quality control\u2014scaling both volume and reliability.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>OSPRI said that over the next 12\u201324 months, it plans to expand its R&amp;D team by 40% and grow commercial operations by 25% to meet increasing demand.
