Crocker Street, the campus offers essential resources for residents, including restrooms, showers, laundry facilities, a harm reduction drop-in center, community respite beds, and health and social services.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-29207 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Housing_For_Health_08-14-25_Skid_Row_Care_Campus_Grand_Opening-HQ-082.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"533\" height=\"355\"  \/>The campus comes out of the Skid Row Action Plan, a community planning initiative that expands access to interim and permanent housing, health care, harm reduction and other supportive services. The plan, developed by Skid Row community members and public, private, and non-profit organizations, seeks to address systemic racism and disinvestment in Skid Row by supporting a culturally vibrant and thriving community.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Skid Row Care Campus is a powerful example of what\u2019s possible when we truly listen to people and invest in dignity, healing, and meeting individuals where they are,\u201d said <b>Hilda Solis, Los Angeles County Chair Pro Tem and First District Supervisor<\/b>. \u201cIt delivers on the core goals set by the Skid Row Action Plan, an initiative I\u2019ve proudly championed in close partnership with residents and local stakeholders. This campus centers trauma-informed care, harm reduction, access to healthcare, and real pathways to permanent housing. This is more than a service hub\u2014 it\u2019s a clear statement that every life in Skid Row matters, and that everyone deserves safety, health, and hope.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-29205 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Housing_For_Health_08-14-25_Skid_Row_Care_Campus_Grand_Opening-HQ-051.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"521\" height=\"347\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Run by community organizations and staffed by people from the Skid Row neighborhood, the Skid Row Care Campus began providing services in April 2025. The campus reflects what Skid Row residents have highlighted as the greatest needs in the community. The goals are to improve the health and wellbeing of Skid Row community members and create pathways out of homelessness.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEven with an ICE raid going on down the street, we stand strong here celebrating our commitment to community,\u201d said <b>Sarah Mahin<\/b>, <b>director of the Department of Homeless Services and Housing<\/b>, as helicopters flew overhead during the grand opening event. \u201cThis campus and the people working here are making a difference in people\u2019s lives.
