SAN ANTONIO \u2014 The retrial of R.C. Curtis, charged with the 2015 death of Paula Boyd, a beloved HEB deli worker, continued this morning at the Cadena Reeves Justice Center. The lead investigator took the stand, revealing early uncertainties in the investigation. <\/p>\n

The medical examiner testified that Boyd, 75, was strangled and beaten to death, and her death was ruled a homicide. The investigator said they obtained Boyd’s bank records, which led detectives to Curtis. Prosecutors allege Curtis was one of three individuals seen on surveillance video using Boyd\u2019s cards after her murder.<\/p>\n

Testimony is expected to continue tomorrow, though it will only be a half-day session.
