Last summer, the Chicago Bears<\/a> were featured on HBO’s “Hard Knocks” during training camp and preseason. It had mixed reviews because it was a great insight into the team and what they were building, but it was also very “PG,” which took away some of the authenticity.<\/p>\n

This summer, the Buffalo Bills are the focal point. It isn’t usual for Super Bowl contenders to be the featured team, but it’s a nice change of pace.<\/p>\n

The third episode, which aired Tuesday night, was spoiled by the Bears<\/a> following their 38-0 thrashing of the Bills in the second preseason game Sunday night at Soldier Field.<\/p>\n

The first two-thirds of the episode had practices and meetings that Buffalo went through leading up to the game, including last Friday’s joint practice with Chicago. But it wasn’t a fun affair for the Bills when they were dominated by the Bears on national television.<\/p>\n

Yes, Chicago’s starters began the game against the second-string Buffalo defenders, and Josh Allen didn’t play. But the Bears were only up 7-0 by the time their starters exited. Chicago outscored Buffalo 31-0 from that point on, so there is plenty to be frustrated about if you’re the Bills.<\/p>\n

Usually, the Bears are the team having their fun spoiled by others. This time, it was a change of pace to see Caleb Williams, Ben Johnson, and the entire team made to look good on camera.<\/p>\n

The only positive for Buffalo leaving Chicago is that the players were shown leaving Soldier Field with food from Lou Malnati’s. Nobody can ever be that upset following a game that doesn’t count if they can eat some Lou’s pizza and salad.<\/p>\n

For the Bears, it is nice to see them spoil the Bills’ fun, but they need to keep this momentum going. They’re now headed to play another team that has the cameras on them a lot in the Kansas City Chiefs. There’s nothing they need more than to see Williams end August on a high note.<\/p>\n
