{"id":164353,"date":"2025-08-21T17:41:09","date_gmt":"2025-08-21T17:41:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/164353\/"},"modified":"2025-08-21T17:41:09","modified_gmt":"2025-08-21T17:41:09","slug":"foreign-ministers-team-up-to-condemn-israels-west-bank-settlement-plans-politico","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/164353\/","title":{"rendered":"Foreign ministers team up to condemn Israel\u2019s West Bank settlement plans \u2013 POLITICO"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>These included the foreign ministers of Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and the U.K., and European Commission Vice-President Kaja Kallas.<\/p>\n<p>The reprimand came as Britain\u2019s Foreign Secretary David Lammy summoned Israel\u2019s ambassador to the U.K. to the Foreign Office.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday, the Ambassador of Israel to the United Kingdom was summoned to the Foreign, Commonwealth &amp; Development Office,\u201d a Foreign Office spokesperson said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/news\/uk-summons-israeli-ambassador-following-approval-of-e1-settlement-plan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">separate statement on Thursday. <\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cHer Excellency Tzipi Hotovely was summoned in response to the Israeli Higher Planning Committee\u2019s decision to approve plans for settlement construction in the E1 area, East of Jerusalem,\u201d they added. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/articles\/cvg30l6myj3o\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Israel gave final approval for the settlement project<\/a> this week \u2014\u00a0including plans for 3,400 homes in the West Bank.
