WESTLAKE, LOS ANGELES (KABC) — An Amber Alert was issued Thursday morning after two young brothers, foster children ages 2 and 10, were allegedly abducted by their non-custodial mother in the Westlake District of Los Angeles.<\/p>\n
The missing boys were identified as Dereck Rodriguez and Jaden Hernandez, according to a flyer published by the California Highway Patrol. The CHP identified 30-year-old Jackeline Hernandez-Torres as the suspect in the case.<\/p>\n
Photos and descriptions of the boys and their mother were released as part of the Amber Alert.<\/p>\n
Derek is a described as a 2-year-old Hispanic male, 2 feet tall, weighing 20 pounds. He has red hair, brown eyes, and was last seen wearing a dark-colored T-shirt and dark pants.<\/p>\n
Ten-year-old Jaden is described as a Hispanic male, 4 feet tall, weighing 100 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes, and is believed to be wearing a black shirt and black pants.<\/p>\n
Their mother is said to be 5 feet tall, weighing 120 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a light-colored hooded sweatshirt and dark sweatpants.<\/p>\n
Hernandez-Torres is believed to be driving a black 2008 Chrysler PT Cruiser, according to the CHP. The car’s license plate number is DFT105.<\/p>\n
Anyone with information about the whereabouts of the boys or the suspect is urged to call 911.<\/p>\n
The two boys were reported missing around 1:30 a.m. from a foster home on South Virgil Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.<\/p>\n
Video from the scene showed officers canvassing the neighborhood on the ground and an LAPD helicopter searching from the air.<\/p>\n
