The Under the El Bazaar<\/strong><\/p>\n

This weekend kicks off a new series for Fishtown. Dubbed \u201cThe Under the El Bazaar,\u201d this fresh experience will take over North Front Street\u00a0with plenty of food, fun and one-of-a-kind finds. The first date is set for this Saturday, June 28, (noon to 7 p.m.) and the open-air celebration will be filled with pop-up shopping, street performers, live music, expanded outdoor dining, and more.<\/p>\n

Family-friendly activities span face painting, a balloon artist,<\/a>\u00a0and a caricature artist, plus, DJs, local bands and acoustic performers will be sprinkled throughout the day. Vendors will be lined with creative goods, plus, local favorites like LMNO (1749 N. Front Street), Evil Genius Beer Company (1727 N. Front Street), Percy Street Barbecue (1700 N. Front Street), and The International Bar (1624 N Front Street) will be offering food and drink specials, sidewalk seating, and special in-house offerings throughout the day as well.<\/p>\n

Austrian Grand Prix Watch Party<\/strong><\/p>\n

The recently opened F1 Arcade is celebrating its sport this weekend with an Austrian Grand Prix Watch Party. The race will kick off Sunday evening (June 29) at 9 p.m., doors open an hour earlier. As a release notes, open-to-the-public tickets are available for purchase ($29-$135) and include reserved seating in an exclusive Grandstand area, tokens for beer, wine, bubbles, and unlimited sharing plates, plus, live entertainment throughout the venue, and open sim racing from 8 p.m. until the end of the Watch Party.<\/p>\n

Brews & Bites at Pennsbury Manor<\/strong><\/p>\n

History and libations will meet this weekend at the Brews & Bites Festival at Pennsbury Manor. This beer, wine, and spirits tasting event will be held al fresco at this charming water-side estate, along with food trucks, and live music by the classic rock\/Motown band,\u00a0AUGUST. Tastings of historic recipe beers made by Pennsbury\u2019s brewing club Quakers Behaving Badley will also be available, including a Cherry Ale, March Ale and Molasses Beer. <\/p>\n

This is a 21+ event. $45 tickets include unlimited drink sampling, or designated drivers can opt for $20 tickets that come with unlimited water and soft drinks.<\/p>\n

Bailer en FDR<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bailar en FDR offers a unique and free way to spend your Friday night. Kicking off June 27, this dance class will take place at the historic FDR Park Boathouse, and features an all-levels dance lesson from 7:30 to 8:30\u00a0p.m. The class will be followed by a social dance from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m. hosted by DJ Val Flores and Philly Outdoor Bachata & Salsa. Taqueria Morales will on site, accepting cash, card, or Venmo, and the boathouse is covered, so the event will take place rain or shine.<\/p>\n

\u2018So Fades The Light\u2019 screening at PhilMOCA<\/strong><\/p>\n

There\u2019s some Philly talent hitting the big screen in a new cult-horror thriller, and locals can catch it all at a screening this Saturday, June 28, at PhilMOCA. Starring local musician Kiley Lotz (Petal), the plot of \u2018So Fades the Light\u2019 follows a child born into the violent Christian fundamentalist cult The Iron and Fire Ministry who sets out on her own journey to discover who she is and how to rebuild her life from the ashes. <\/p>\n

Described as \u201ca\u00a0tense cat-and-mouse thriller in the vein of taut classics of the \u201970s\u201d, the screening will take place at 7:30 p.m. (doors open at 7 p.m.), and tickets run for $12. <\/p>\n

Summer Fun at Dilworth Park<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Philadelphia Marketplace in Dilworth Park will be held for a final weekend this Friday and Saturday (noon to 6 p.m.). While there, Philadelphians will be able to peruse through handmade artwork, home goods, jewelry, and more from a revolving line-up of small businesses from the Greater Philadelphia and tri-state region.<\/p>\n

While at Dilworth, locals can also hit the Rothman Roller Rink. The retro-inspired rink\u2014featuring a checkerboard floor and overhead art installation by Philadelphia\u2019s Lucky Dog Studio\u2014 is\u00a0currently\u00a0open to the public for the season. Tickets run for $10 for adults and $8 for children 10 and\u00a0under,\u00a0skate rental is $6 (group discounts are available for parties of 12 or more). The rink will remain open daily (hours vary) through June 29.\u00a0<\/p>\n
