When a \u201cfrail\u201d Ozzy Osbourne took the stage for his final Black Sabbath show<\/a>, he knew the end was coming.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you have got to go \u2014 I mean, I wish Ozzy lived another 30 years \u2014 but if you\u2019ve got to go out, it really felt like he knew,\u201d rocker Tom Morello recently said on\u00a0Chicago\u2019s Q101\u00a0radio show<\/a>, calling the Prince of Darkness \u201cone of the all-time greats.\u201d<\/p>\n

Morello \u2014 who worked as musical director for Osbourne\u2019s \u201cBack to the Beginning\u201d farewell concert in England on July 5 \u2014 marveled over \u201cthe fact that he lived to play and feel that love and to one more time; you know, to do \u2018Paranoid;\u2019 to do \u2018Crazy Train.’\u201d <\/p>\n

The Audioslave and Rage Against the Machine guitarist, 61, also noted that \u201con the day, a million things could have gone wrong, and maybe like three things did. But it felt like a spiritually great moment for all fans of rock and roll.\u201d<\/p>\n

Though Morello said Osbourne seemingly knew the end was coming, news of the artist\u2019s death was nonetheless \u201cterrible\u201d news.<\/p>\n

Osbourne \u201chad been frail for a while, but friends of mine saw him a week later,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

And though he labeled the rocker\u2019s death a \u201ctragedy,\u201d Morello added that it was \u201ca miracle\u201d that the icon \u201clived as long as he did.\u201d<\/p>\n

Morello, who planned to make the concert \u201cthe greatest day in the history of heavy metal,\u201d added, \u201cOzzy Osbourne\u2019s lived a pretty on-the-edge lifestyle for a long time.\u201d<\/p>\n

The metal hitmaker died on July 22<\/a> at the age of 76. \u201cIt is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning,\u201d read a statement from his family obtained by Page Six at the time.<\/p>\n

Osbourne\u2019s legendary band paid tribute to their late frontman\u00a0via Instagram<\/a>, writing alongside a photo of him performing, \u201cOzzy Forever.\u201d<\/p>\n

The reality TV and rock star left behind wife Sharon Osbourne, 72, and their three children, Aimee, 41, Kelly, 40, and Jack, 39.<\/p>\n

He had adopted Elliot Kingsley, Riley\u2019s son from a prior relationship, and welcomed biological kids Jessica Osbourne and Louis Osbourne with his ex-wife.<\/p>\n
