{"id":165500,"date":"2025-08-22T03:54:09","date_gmt":"2025-08-22T03:54:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/165500\/"},"modified":"2025-08-22T03:54:09","modified_gmt":"2025-08-22T03:54:09","slug":"dawsons-creek-cast-to-reunite-in-nyc-for-live-reading-next-month","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/165500\/","title":{"rendered":"Dawson\u2019s Creek Cast To Reunite in NYC For Live Reading Next Month"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Cue up the Paula Cole because it&#8217;s finally time to return to Capeside\u2014yes, millennials, after a solid 20 years of wishing and hoping, the cast of seminal\u00a0&#8217;90s teen drama Dawson&#8217;s Creek are coming together for a one-night-only reunion right here in New York City.<\/p>\n<p>Airing on the WB for six seasons from 1998 to 2003, the series\u2014which centered on the lives of a close-knit group of friends (Katie Holmes as Joey Potter, Joshua Jackson as Pacey Witter, Michelle Williams as Jen Lindley and, of course, James Van Der Beek as our titular teen hero Dawson Leery) in a fictional\u00a0harbor town in New England\u2014was a groundbreaking one for the teen-TV genre, laying the soapy-yet-sincere foundations for future YA titles like The O.C., One Tree Hill,\u00a0Gossip Girl\u00a0and\u00a0Riverdale, among others.<\/p>\n<p><strong>RECOMMENDED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/newyork\/news\/16-nyc-locations-featured-in-the-new-gossip-girl-reboot-072321\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">16 NYC locations featured in the Gossip Girl reboot<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>So excuse our cringey excitement over the prospect of that aforementioned Fab Four\u2014including fellow Dawson&#8217;s Creek stars Mary Beth Peil, John Wesley Shipp, Mary-Margaret Humes, Nina Repeta, Kerr Smith, Meredith Monroe and Busy Philipps\u2014reuniting two decades after that fateful finale (Joey and Pacey 4eva!) for a live reading of the show&#8217;s iconic 1998 pilot episode. <\/p>\n<p>Performed in front of a live audience, the reading will take place on Monday, September 22 at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/new-york-kids\/theater\/richard-rodgers-theatre\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Richard Rogers Theatre<\/a>\u00a0in Midtown West.\u00a0The event will benefit F Cancer and Van Der Beek, who announced in November 2024 that he had been diagnosed with\u00a0stage 3 colorectal cancer.\u00a0Tickets go on\u00a0sale at <a href=\"https:\/\/broadwaydirect.com\/show\/dawsons-creek-class-reunion\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Broadway Direct<\/a>\u00a0on Friday, August 22 at 1pm ET.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am so excited to reunite with James, Michelle, Katie, Joshua, and our \u2018Dawson\u2019s Creek\u2019 family for such a special night. \u2018Dawson\u2019s Creek\u2019 changed my life,\u201d show creator Kevin Williamson announced in a statement.\u00a0\u201cWhat began as a personal story about a young man and his friends navigating their way through the challenges of life became so much more than I ever dreamed. I am so honored to be a part of it and to support our beautiful friend, James, as we continue to navigate our way through life and its many challenges.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The reunion announcement is just the latest in Dawson&#8217;s-related news as of late. Former costars-slash-lovers Katie Holmes and Joshua Jackson have been triggering our nostalgia by galivanting around the streets of New York City this summer together while filming Happy Hours, a new dramedy written and directed by Holmes and starring both actors.
