Existing investor RTP Global also participated.<\/p>\n<p>The company said the investment will accelerate its mission to improve digital connectivity for India\u2019s underserved middle-income households by building an affordable, inclusive internet access platform.<\/p>\n<p>Founded in 2015 as i2e1 and rebranded to WIOM in 2021, it operates an asset-light, technology-led platform that integrates with India\u2019s existing internet infrastructure ecosystem. The company leverages the government&#8217;s PM-WANI (Prime Minister Wi-Fi Access Network Interface) framework and functions as the licensed Public Data Office Aggregator (PDOA). Satyam Darmor, Nishit Aggarwal, Ashutosh Mishra, and Maanas Dwivedi are the co-founders of the company.<\/p>\n<p>It partners with local internet operators to extend broadband access to communities where traditional connectivity models are often economically unviable. The new capital will be used to expand product development, strengthen team capabilities, and scale operations, the release notes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe believe everyone deserves the right to dream big,\u201d said Satyam Darmora, Founder of Wiom. \u201cAccess to information is key to realising one\u2019s dreams\u2014but it is often unaffordable for many.
