{"id":16652,"date":"2025-06-26T15:50:08","date_gmt":"2025-06-26T15:50:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/16652\/"},"modified":"2025-06-26T15:50:08","modified_gmt":"2025-06-26T15:50:08","slug":"channel-nines-tony-jones-wont-be-part-of-wimbledon-coverage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/16652\/","title":{"rendered":"Channel Nine&#8217;s Tony Jones won&#8217;t be part of Wimbledon coverage"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Following remarks made about Novak Djokovic during the Australian Open in January,\u00a0Tony Jones, a sports anchor for Australia\u2019s Channel Nine, will not be part of the network\u2019s Wimbledon coverage.<\/p>\n<p>Ben McCaffrey of GB News reported on the decision.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cChannel Nine has excluded veteran sports anchor Tony Jones from its Wimbledon 2025 coverage following controversial remarks he made about Novak Djokovic during January\u2019s Australian Open,\u201d McCaffrey said. \u201cThe 63-year-old presenter, who has been a longtime fixture of the network\u2019s Wimbledon broadcasts, will remain in Melbourne whilst the tournament unfolds in London.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Following a win over Jiri Lehecka during the Australian Open, Djokovic wouldn\u2019t speak to Channel Nine\u2019s Jim Courier.
