I want to enjoy life for as long as possible.&#8217; <\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"3\" class=\"css-16gxnpx emevuu60\">Despite falling off her routine during the pandemic, in recent years she&#8217;s gotten back into <a href=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/uk\/fitness\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/uk\/fitness\/\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"exercising\" data-node-id=\"3.1\" class=\"body-link css-7bauu1 emevuu60\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">exercising<\/a> regularly, walking her dog Angus every day and doing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/uk\/fitness\/running\/g27125112\/cardio-home-workouts\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/uk\/fitness\/running\/g27125112\/cardio-home-workouts\/\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"online workouts\" data-node-id=\"3.3\" class=\"body-link css-7bauu1 emevuu60\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">online workouts<\/a> as often as she can, according to South Wales Magazine. Recently, she&#8217;s also spending time running around after granddaughter Billie, says Daily Mail. But it&#8217;s Zumba and wild swimming in particular that she&#8217;s cited as her preferred ways to move.  <\/p>\n<p>Zumba<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"8\" class=\"css-16gxnpx emevuu60\">Lorraine&#8217;s favourite workout is a Zumba class with her instructor Maxine, she told Daily Mail. &#8216;Like so many people, I found excuses not to commit to a regular exercise routine,&#8217; she explained. &#8216;But after finding exercise I really enjoy, and going to Maxine&#8217;s classes regularly, I feel better not only physically but mentally too. The class is amazing. There&#8217;s a real, &#8220;We&#8217;re all in this together&#8221; [atmosphere]. Maxine is like an agony aunt at the end.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"9\" class=\"css-16gxnpx emevuu60\">She added that movement was especially helpful in midlife. &#8216;We were talking last year about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/uk\/perimenopause-menopause\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/uk\/perimenopause-menopause\/\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"menopause\" data-node-id=\"9.1\" class=\"body-link css-7bauu1 emevuu60\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">menopause<\/a> and how difficult that can be for everybody, I did get quite anxious&#8230; and [exercise] really helps with that. It&#8217;s like I&#8217;ve had a spring clean in my head. It&#8217;s like being re-set.&#8217;  <\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"10\" class=\"css-16gxnpx emevuu60\">In 2022, she took to Instagram to share that she had taken up Zumba again, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/celebrity-news\/1566387\/Lorraine-Kelly-fitness-Zumba-weight-loss-journey-instagram-itv-latest-news\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/celebrity-news\/1566387\/Lorraine-Kelly-fitness-Zumba-weight-loss-journey-instagram-itv-latest-news\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"The Express \" data-node-id=\"10.1.0\" class=\"body-link css-7bauu1 emevuu60\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">The Express <\/a>reported: &#8216;Right, that\u2019s my first Zumba class in two years and it was fantastic but look at my face!&#8217; she said. &#8216;But I\u2019m coming back tomorrow. It feels great and I feel like I\u2019m back on track.&#8217; Her caption showed just how ecstatic she was: &#8216;Knackered but so much fun! I was numb from the neck down, but boy was I alive! It was the most alive I\u2019ve ever felt. I was all tingly.<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"15\" class=\"css-16gxnpx emevuu60\">&#8216;And I\u2019ve gone swimming in Orkney a couple of times, on Inganess beach which features in the book. It\u2019s beautiful crystal clear water, just fantastic. <\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"16\" class=\"css-16gxnpx emevuu60\">She&#8217;s also taken in a dip in &#8216;a wetsuit in February&#8217;, but remarked that &#8216;it\u2019s not the same. You don\u2019t get the same benefit. You don\u2019t get the same tingle. It\u2019s really good for you.&#8217; Noting its sociability factor, she shared: &#8216;There\u2019s great camaraderie if you go with a bunch of girls and afterwards have a wee coffee and cake.<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"17\" class=\"css-16gxnpx emevuu60\">&#8216;It\u2019s great for your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/uk\/health\/mental-health\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/uk\/health\/mental-health\/\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"mental health\" data-node-id=\"17.1\" class=\"body-link css-7bauu1 emevuu60\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">mental health<\/a> if you are maybe feeling overwhelmed sometimes,&#8217; she added to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecourier.co.uk\/fp\/entertainment\/4892983\/lorraine-kelly-reveals-love-for-wild-swimming-at-book-launch\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.thecourier.co.uk\/fp\/entertainment\/4892983\/lorraine-kelly-reveals-love-for-wild-swimming-at-book-launch\/\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"The Courier\" data-node-id=\"17.3.0\" class=\"body-link css-7bauu1 emevuu60\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">The Courier<\/a>, saying that she sometimes swam in the estuary of Scotland&#8217;s River Tay\u2019s. <\/p>\n<p>Pandemic struggles<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"20\" class=\"css-16gxnpx emevuu60\">Lorraine thought she had established and settled into her routine, but Covid caused her to fall out of it. &#8216;I honestly thought I&#8217;d cracked it, because I was going to my exercise classes two or three times a week, I was really healthy with my eating,&#8217; she told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.southwalesmagazine.co.uk\/post\/lorraine-kelly-on-beating-mindless-comfort-eating-and-feeling-energised-and-confident-again\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.southwalesmagazine.co.uk\/post\/lorraine-kelly-on-beating-mindless-comfort-eating-and-feeling-energised-and-confident-again\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"South Wales Magazine\" data-node-id=\"20.1.0\" class=\"body-link css-7bauu1 emevuu60\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">South Wales Magazine<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"21\" class=\"css-16gxnpx emevuu60\">&#8216;And then when the pandemic hit, like so many of us, I just went completely off the rails.
