An extreme heat warning<\/a> is currently in effect for Los Angeles County<\/strong> and many surrounding areas. This is an increase from the initial extreme heat watch earlier this week<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Unusually high temperatures during the daytime<\/strong> and very warm overnight temperatures will \u201cproduce moderate to high risk for heat-related illnesses.\u201d It\u2019s advised to \u201cstay hydrated and limit outdoor activity during the peak heat of the day<\/strong>\u2026 Also, make sure not to leave children or pets in locked vehicles.\u201d<\/p>\n

Critical Fire Weather Conditions <\/p>\n

Critical wildfire weather<\/a> conditions<\/strong> are expected at least through Saturday<\/strong> in many parts of Southern California, according to the NWS. With an extreme heat warning, paired with the dry conditions of the season, the risk of wildfires is increasing across Southern California <\/strong>this weekend. It\u2019s advised to stay alert and stay prepared. Keep a go-bag<\/a> ready for possible evacuations, and be prepared the evacuate quickly<\/a> if necessary.<\/p>\n

The latest wildfire warning comes just a few weeks after mandatory evacuation orders<\/a> were issued for L.A. and Ventura Counties due to the Canyon Fire<\/a>.<\/p>\n
