EastEnders<\/a> has confirmed a “lovely” reunion for Anthony Trueman and Kat Moon, 22 years after their romance. <\/p>\n

Anthony, who was last seen in Walford in 2014, will be back on our screens next week<\/a> when he returns for Patrick and Yolande’s wedding. The doctor soon realises that his father is struggling after the recent break-in<\/a>, and he decides to stick around for longer than planned.<\/p>\n

While back on the Square, Anthony is reunited with familiar faces from his past, including old flame Kat. Despite their rollercoaster relationship, which ended in 2003, the pair share a heartwarming catch-up. <\/p>\n

“Kat gives him a very warm welcome, which is great as she was a big part of his life,” explains Nicholas Bailey, who plays Anthony. <\/p>\n

“There’s a lovely chemistry between them because Kat’s genuinely pleased to see him and vice versa – they’ve been through a lot together in the past. Anthony is really happy that Kat is in a good place and has Alfie and her boys.”<\/p>\n

Bailey said his return to Walford “felt like coming home”, as he knew a lot of the cast and crew from his previous stints on the soap.<\/p>\n

“The first scene I filmed felt just like old times because it was with Jessie and I think we got it in one take because it felt so natural,” he shared, adding: “There have been lots of changes too and so there’s a different energy and it’s a really nice one. I felt like I was coming into a family and being made to feel very welcome.”<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Kat will soon be receiving another blast from the past<\/a> when her estranged daughter Zoe<\/a> makes her explosive return to the Square. Zoe also had a brief relationship with Anthony – but will their reunion go as smoothly? <\/p>\n

EastEnders<\/strong> airs on Mondays – Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.<\/strong><\/p>\n
