\n\tDeftones<\/a>\u2018 Private Music is private music no longer, with the rock band dropping its 10th studio album on Friday (Aug. 21) for all the world to hear after more than a month of buildup.<\/p>\n

\n\tLed by singles \u201cMy Mind Is a Mountain\u201d and \u201cMilk of the Madonna,\u201d Private Music features 11 tracks total. The rest of the tracklist features \u201cLocked Club,\u201d \u201cEcdysis,\u201d \u201cInfinite Source,\u201d \u201cSouvenir\u201d \u201cCxz,\u201d \u201cI Think About You All the Time,\u201d \u201cCut Hands,\u201d \u201c~Metal Dream\u201d and \u201cDeparting the Body.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tRecorded and produced in part in Malibu and Joshua Tree in California, the project marks the bandmates\u2019 first full-length since 2020\u2019s Ohms. Peaking at No. 5, the latter became Deftones\u2019 sixth top 10 hit on the Billboard 200<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe release of Private Music comes about six weeks after the rockers first announced the album, sharing its simplistic cover art \u2014 an albino snake curled up on a bright green surface \u2014 on social media and writing simply, \u201cprivate music | out august 22.\u201d That same day, Deftones dropped \u201cMy Mind Is a Mountain,\u201d with \u201cMilk of Madonna\u201d arriving about one month later.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe band has since been getting fans ready for the long-awaited new record by hosting a string of private listening parties leading up to Private Music\u2018s release. The sessions took place Aug. 19-21 in Amsterdam, Mexico City, Los Angeles, London, Melbourne, New York City, Sydney, Toronto, Vancouver,
Berlin, Paris and, of course, Deftones\u2019 home city of Sacramento.<\/p>\n

\n\tBefore that, the band kicked off a North American headline tour that has already included shows at NYC\u2019s famed Madison Square Garden and the Kia Forum in L.A. Next up, Deftones will play a string of dates in Canada \u2014 starting with a performance in Vancouver on Friday \u2014 followed by more shows in the U.S.<\/p>\n
