{"id":167068,"date":"2025-08-22T17:54:11","date_gmt":"2025-08-22T17:54:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/167068\/"},"modified":"2025-08-22T17:54:11","modified_gmt":"2025-08-22T17:54:11","slug":"no-metro-phoenix-freeway-closures-planned","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/167068\/","title":{"rendered":"No metro Phoenix freeway closures planned"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>PHOENIX \u2014 Traffic should run smoothly for drivers around the Valley this weekend.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s because no metro Phoenix freeways are scheduled to close, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/azdot.gov\/news\/adots-weekend-freeway-travel-advisory-aug-22-25-phoenix-area\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Weekend Freeway Travel Advisory for Aug. 22-25<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>However, one major ramp will still be closed due to an ongoing project.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">\ud83d\ude98 Weekend Freeway Travel Advisory (Phoenix area) \ud83d\ude9a<\/p>\n<p>\ud83c\udf86 No scheduled freeway closures this weekend!! \ud83c\udf86 Just one reminder:<\/p>\n<p>\ud83d\ude97 The eastbound L-101 (Agua Fria) ramps to I-17 (north- and southbound) are expected to reopen by 5 a.m. Friday, Aug. 29.<\/p>\n<p>More: <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/UhMU7L5dRJ\" rel=\"nofollow\">https:\/\/t.co\/UhMU7L5dRJ<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/6Fw3bTOd3k\" rel=\"nofollow\">pic.twitter.com\/6Fw3bTOd3k<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Arizona DOT (@ArizonaDOT) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ArizonaDOT\/status\/1958680596021960979?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">August 22, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The ramp from the<a href=\"https:\/\/ktar.com\/arizona-traffic\/agua-fria-freeway-closure-ramps\/5738668\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"> eastbound Loop 101 Agua Fria Freeway to north- and southbound Interstate 17<\/a> will remain closed this weekend.<\/p>\n<p>The ramp closed on Aug. 15 due to a concrete pavement replacement project. It is scheduled to open by 5 a.m. next Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Drivers who would normally use the ramp to access I-17 can get off eastbound Loop 101 at 35th Avenue and then go north to Deer Valley Road or south to Union Hills Drive. Both of those roads connect with I-17.<\/p>\n<p>Drivers who want to get to downtown Phoenix can take eastbound Loop 101 to southbound State Route 51.<\/p>\n<p>Other ongoing ramp closures of note for this weekend<\/p>\n<p>There are two ramp closures on the westbound Loop 202 Santan Freeway. The <a href=\"https:\/\/ktar.com\/arizona-traffic\/east-valley-exit-loop-202\/5734322\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">off-ramp at Price Road<\/a> is closed and is scheduled to reopen in late September. The <a href=\"https:\/\/ktar.com\/arizona-traffic\/loop-202-chandler-closing\/5739575\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">off-ramp at Arizona Avenue<\/a> is closed and is scheduled to reopen in mid-October. These closures are both due to the ongoing freeway widening project in that area.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the off-ramp from the westbound Loop 101 Agua Fria freeway at <a href=\"https:\/\/azdot.gov\/news\/westbound-loop-101-ramp-67th-avenue-closing-60-days\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">67th Avenue<\/a> in Glendale is closed. That ramp is scheduled to reopen in October.<\/p>\n<p>On the eastbound side of the Loop 101 Agua Fria freeway, the off-ramp at <a href=\"https:\/\/azdot.gov\/news\/loop-101-east-ramp-27th-avenue-closes-monday-july-28\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">27th Avenue<\/a> is Phoenix is closed.
