{"id":16725,"date":"2025-06-26T16:27:11","date_gmt":"2025-06-26T16:27:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/16725\/"},"modified":"2025-06-26T16:27:11","modified_gmt":"2025-06-26T16:27:11","slug":"caitlin-clark-is-injured-again-with-return-timeline-uncertain","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/16725\/","title":{"rendered":"Caitlin Clark is injured again with return timeline uncertain"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Caitlin Clark is out with a left groin injury and will not play for the Fever in their matchup with the Sparks on Thursday, the team <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/IndianaFever\/status\/1938237432366772332\" rel=\"nofollow\">announced<\/a>.   <\/p>\n<p>Head coach Stephanie White told reporters that the All-Star point guard reported pain to the training staff on Wednesday night and then got an MRI on her groin.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think it\u2019s very much a day-to-day thing how she responds to treatment,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/chloepeterson67\/status\/1938254719430107495\" rel=\"nofollow\">White said.<\/a> \u201c\u2026 But yeah, found out late last night and we will treat it day-to-day\u2026 C has shown that she is tough and she\u2019s a quick healer, so we\u2019ll see.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark will not play against the Sparks on Thursday due to a groin injury, the team said.   IMAGN IMAGES via Reuters Connect<\/p>\n<p>White did not share the MRI results. <\/p>\n<p>Clark recently returned from a quad injury, which sidelined her for five games \u2014 and had been going through a three-point shooting slump, specifically on the road. <\/p>\n<p>She went 3-of-13 shooting in the Fever\u2019s 94-86 win over the Storm on Tuesday in Seattle.<\/p>\n<p>The Fever signed point guard Aari McDonald the next day \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/06\/25\/sports\/fever-releasing-dewanna-bonner-after-all-star-left-team-for-personal-reasons\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">and waived veteran guard DeWanna Bonner<\/a> after she had missed five games due to \u201cpersonal reasons.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Seattle Storm guard Erica Wheeler looks on as Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark (22) falls while reaching for the ball during the second half of a game on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, in Seattle.   AP<\/p>\n<p>While speaking to reporters Thursday, Fever GM Amber Cox explained Bonner\u2019s departure after signing a one-year deal with Indiana in the offseason.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe were really excited when she decided to come here in the offseason and we got into the season she expressed that she didn\u2019t feel like it was a good fit for her,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/chloepeterson67\/status\/1938244552797614202\" rel=\"nofollow\">Cox said<\/a>. \u201cWe talked through that, had conversations, obviously made adjustments to lineups\u2026 and we just couldn\u2019t get it to a place where it felt good for her.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cox added the Fever couldn\u2019t find a suitable trade option for Bonner earlier in the season, and that it was best for both parties to part ways.<\/p>\n<p>Aari McDonald #2 of the Indiana Fever shoots a free throw against the Atlanta Dream during a WNBA Commissioner Cup Game on June 10, 2025 at Gateway Center Arena at College Park in Atlanta, Georgia.
