But now we have our first proper good look at some new and returning heroes\u2014and when exactly we\u2019ll get to meet them.<\/p>\n<p>Lucasfilm has confirmed that\u00a0Star Wars: Visions volume three will begin streaming on Disney+ October 29 with a new poster, depicting a whole host of characters from the upcoming series.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Back to where it all began.<\/p>\n<p>Star Wars: Visions Volume 3 arrives October 29, only on <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DisneyPlus?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">@DisneyPlus<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/6cpB30ukGu\" rel=\"nofollow\">pic.twitter.com\/6cpB30ukGu<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Star Wars (@starwars) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/starwars\/status\/1958959871841509599?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">August 22, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>As reported earlier this year at Star Wars Celebration Japan, the new series will feature nine episodes from a whole host of Japanese animation studios, after <a href=\"https:\/\/gizmodo.com\/star-wars-visions-season-2-review-disney-plus-anime-1850397043\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the second volume<\/a> released back in 2023 expanded the series\u2019 scope to incorporate animation studios from around the world. Volume three will see Kamikaze Douga (working with Anima), Trigger, Production I.G., and Kinema Citrus all return, having worked on volume one, with Kamikaze Douga, Production I.G., and Kinema Citrus working specifically on sequel episodes to their volume one shorts: \u201cThe Duel: Payback,\u201d \u201cThe Ninth Jedi: Child of Hope,\u201d and \u201cThe Village Bride: The Lost Ones,\u201d respectively. Trigger\u2019s new short will be an original story, simply titled \u201cThe Smuggler,\u201d while Kinema Citrus will also create a second original short, \u201cYuko\u2019s Treasure.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Newcomers to\u00a0Star Wars: Visions for volume three include David Production (Jojo\u2019s Bizarre Adventure), working on the short \u201cBlack;\u201d Wit Studio (Attack on Titan,\u00a0Spy x Family), on the short \u201cThe Bounty Hunters;\u201d Polygon Pictures (Transformers Prime,\u00a0Tron: Uprising, and known in Star Wars\u00a0for support work on\u00a0Clone Wars\u00a0and\u00a0Resistance) on \u201cThe Bird of Paradise;\u201d and Project Studio Q (Evangelion 3.0+1.0: Thrice Upon a Time) on \u201cThe Song of Four Wings.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Beyond the third volume of Visions, the series is set to return in a new format some time in 2026 with Star Wars Visions Presents,\u00a0an extended-length format that sees prior participating studios return to past shorts and expound upon their worlds. The first\u00a0Visions Presents will see Production I.G. and Kenji Kamiyama return to\u00a0The Ninth Jedi to tell a new story seemingly separate from either the original Volume 1 short or \u201cChild of Hope.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Star Wars: Visions volume three will stream on Disney+ October 29.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Want more io9 news?
