In fact, the city\u00a0loves them so much that local, habitually-packed restaurant Teddy Wongs, currently tucked in a corner on Rosedale Street, is expanding west to nearby\u00a0Weatherford.<\/p>\n<p>Announced by the restaurant <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo?fbid=630193316833037&amp;set=a.148301321688908\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"Link opens in new window (via Facebook)\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">via Facebook<\/a> Thursday but first reported by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.star-telegram.com\/entertainment\/restaurants\/eats-beat\/article311758152.html\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"Link opens in new window (Bud Kennedy at )\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Bud Kennedy at Fort Worth Star-Telegram<\/a> Tuesday, Teddy Wongs\u2019 second digs will open this fall in Weatherford\u2019s downtown square at 102 Houston Ave., a spot previously occupied by <a href=\"https:\/\/fwtx.com\/sponsored-article\/how-zeno%E2%80%99s-on-the-square-became-weatherford%E2%80%99s-destination-it\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Zeno\u2019s<\/a>, which recently moved to a larger space.<\/p>\n<p>The Asian restaurant, known around Cowtown for its delectable steamed dumplings and exceptional wine list, first opened its doors in the Near Southside in late 2023. \u201cThe restaurant serves nearly a dozen varieties of Chinese dumplings in flavors such as chicken and celery, mushroom and pork, shrimp, and veggie, in your choice of preparation, pan-fried or steamed,\u201d the magazine\u2019s resident foodie <a href=\"https:\/\/fwtx.com\/eat-drink\/the-new-teddy-wong%E2%80%99s-puts-dumplings-front-and-center\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Malcolm Mayhew wrote after the spot opened<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>As reported in the same article, Teddy Wongs is a spinoff of Bushi Bushi Dim Sum in Addison, which chef Patrick Ru opened in 2020. He then teamed with Jeffrey Yarbrough, a Fort Worth native and hospitality industry veteran, to bring a similar concept to Fort Worth.<\/p>\n<p>After opening, Teddy Wongs received widespread acclaim and was named one of Fort Worth Magazine\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/fwtx.com\/eat-drink\/fort-worths-best-new-restaurants\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Best New Restaurants in 2024<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Teddy Wongs had teased an expansion on social media Wednesday with a Facebook post that requested followers of the page to guess the spot of their second location. \u201cWord around Cowtown is that Teddy Wongs might be expanding and taking our bold flavors and famous dumplings somewhere new,\u201d the post read.<\/p>\n<p>And, with Kennedy\u2019s article having already spoiled the surprise, we\u2019ll have you know that most guessed Weatherford \u2014 with the occasional jokester suggesting something like Gaza.<\/p>\n<p>Kennedy&#8217;s rain on the parade aside, Teddy Wongs also assures dumpling devotees that their spot on Rosedale Street ain&#8217;t going anywhere. &#8220;Don\u2019t worry, the fun isn\u2019t over,&#8221; a Facebook post reads.\u00a0&#8220;This is just the beginning\u2026&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Fort Worth has spoken: Cowtown\u00a0loves dumplings.
