So which one should you choose?<\/p>\n<p>Keep reading to learn the differences between the Nothing Phone 3 vs Xiaomi 15, and determine whether you think either deserves a place on our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trustedreviews.com\/best\/best-android-phones-3438996\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">best Android phone<\/a> list.<\/p>\n<p>Price and Availability\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trustedreviews.com\/reviews\/nothing-phone-3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Nothing Phone 3<\/a> is the most expensive Nothing handset ever launched, with a starting RRP of \u00a3799\/$799. Considering that\u2019s the same price as Apple\u2019s flagship <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trustedreviews.com\/reviews\/apple-iphone-16\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">iPhone 16<\/a> and Google\u2019s Pixel 9 flagship, this isn\u2019t necessarily a surprising pricing strategy.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\n        Advertisement    <\/p>\n<p>While the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trustedreviews.com\/reviews\/xiaomi-15\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Xiaomi 15<\/a> does have a pricier starting RRP than the Nothing Phone 3, at \u00a3899, it\u2019s worth noting we have seen price drops for the handset since its launch. For example, at the time of writing, you can pick up the 512GB model for just \u00a3799.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Design<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Nothing Phone 3 has a Glyph Matrix<\/li>\n<li>Xiaomi 15 is thinner and lighter than the Nothing Phone 3<\/li>\n<li>Both have an IP68 protection rating<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Arguably the headline feature of the Nothing Phone 3 is that it no longer sports the iconic Glyph Interface which was first introduced in the Nothing Phone 1. Instead, the Phone 3 features a Glyph Matrix, which is a small display made up of 489 LEDs that shows you certain notifications.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Also introduced with the Phone 3 is Glyph Toys, which is a suite of useful tools such as Digital Clock, Battery Indicator, Stopwatch and more, all displayed within the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trustedreviews.com\/explainer\/what-is-glyph-matrix\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Glyph Matrix<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"820\" height=\"461\" data-lazy-type=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Nothing-Phone-3-glyph-matrix-battery-level-820x461.jpg\" alt=\"Nothing Phone 3 Glyph Matrix\" class=\"lazy lazy-hidden wp-image-4607840\"\/>Nothing Phone 3. Image Credit (Trusted Reviews)<\/p>\n<p>\n        Advertisement    <\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s fair to say the Xiaomi 15, and even some of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trustedreviews.com\/best\/best-smartphone-3431175\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">best smartphones<\/a>, look pretty boring in comparison. That\u2019s not to say that the Xiaomi 15 doesn\u2019t look smart, as it still sports the same large square camera module seen on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trustedreviews.com\/reviews\/xiaomi-14\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Xiaomi 14<\/a>, alongside curved edges with a glass front and back.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"820\" height=\"461\" data-lazy-type=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Xiaomi-15-11-820x461.jpg\" alt=\"Xiaomi 15 on table\" class=\"lazy lazy-hidden wp-image-578239\"\/>Xiaomi 15. Image Credit (Trusted Reviews)<\/p>\n<p>At 8.08mm thick and weighing 191g, the Xiaomi 15 is also smaller and lighter than the Nothing Phone 3, which is 9mm thick and weighs almost 220g.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Winner: Nothing Phone 3<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Screen<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Nothing Phone 3 is larger at 6.67-inches<\/li>\n<li>Xiaomi 15\u2019s screen is just 6.36-inches<\/li>\n<li>Both have an AMOLED display<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There\u2019s a fairly large size difference between the Phone 3 and Xiaomi 15, with the former\u2019s display measuring at 6.67-inches while the latter\u2019s is just 6.36-inches. We\u2019d argue that whether a bigger screen is better depends entirely on your preference; I, for example, prefer a smaller handset as I don\u2019t tend to use my phone for gaming or streaming.<\/p>\n<p>\n        Advertisement    <\/p>\n<p>If you do prefer more screen real estate then the Phone 3 is easily a better choice here. In fact, we hailed the handset\u2019s AMOLED display as being one of its strongest features, especially thanks to its brightness, colour reproduction and contrast levels.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Even so, the Xiaomi 15\u2019s AMOLED display is not to be sniffed at, as its 2670 x 1200 pixel resolution results in a sharp offering. Plus, the handset supports the likes of Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HDR10 Plus too.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, like most of even the best cheap smartphones, both handsets are equipped with a 1-120Hz refresh rate. This is a feature we still can\u2019t believe is missing from the iPhone 16 and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trustedreviews.com\/reviews\/apple-iphone-16-plus\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">iPhone 16 Plus<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\n                Nothing Phone 3<br \/>\n                Xiaomi 15\n            <\/p>\n<p><strong>Winner: Nothing Phone 3<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Cameras<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Both handsets have three 50MP rear lenses<\/li>\n<li>We found Nothing Phone 3\u2019s cameras to be fine, if inconsistent\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>The Xiaomi 15\u2019s camera is designed in partnership with Leica<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n        Advertisement    <\/p>\n<p>Although both handsets have three rear 50MP lenses, they differ with their exact offerings. Mainly, the Xiaomi 15 offers 2.6x native zoom while the Phone 3 offers up to 3x. Image Credit (Trusted Reviews)<\/p>\n<p>The zoom, however, is limited to 2.6x native but Xiaomi does offer an AI feature to assist with ultra-zoom images. While this is a nice tool to have, and can make images look noticeably sharper, you do risk losing detail when using AI.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>While it may not boast a spot on our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trustedreviews.com\/best\/best-camera-phones-3520817\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">best camera phone<\/a> list, like the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trustedreviews.com\/reviews\/xiaomi-15-ultra\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Xiaomi 15 Ultra<\/a>, the Xiaomi 15 is a good choice for anyone who enjoys playing around with the camera function. However, for a more simple point-and-shoot experience, you may be better off going elsewhere.<\/p>\n<p>The Phone 3, on the other hand, offers somewhat of an inconsistent performance. Image Credit (Trusted Reviews)<\/p>\n<p>\n        Advertisement    <\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, it\u2019s worth noting that the zoom camera does do well at taking macro photography shots, and allows you to get relatively close to smaller objects.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Winner: Xiaomi 15<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Performance<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 vs Snapdragon 8 Elite<\/li>\n<li>Both handsets come with 12GB RAM<\/li>\n<li>Xiaomi 15 had a tendency to get warm under heavy loads<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Considering the Phone 3 is hailed as a true flagship smartphone, it\u2019s surprising that it doesn\u2019t run on Qualcomm\u2019s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, like the Xiaomi 15. Image Credit (Trusted Reviews)<\/p>\n<p>It may seem disappointing, especially considering just how powerful <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trustedreviews.com\/explainer\/what-is-snapdragon-8-elite-4565469\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Snapdragon 8 Elite<\/a> is and as it powers a lot of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trustedreviews.com\/best\/best-android-phones-3438996\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">best Android phones<\/a>. Image Credit (Trusted Reviews)<\/p>\n<p>Otherwise, as you may have predicted, the Xiaomi 15 is a seriously mighty handset. All apps, including games, are fast to launch and everything feels impressively smooth in use. The biggest issue we found with the Xiaomi 15 was its inability to stay cool. Despite being fitted with Xiaomi\u2019s IceLoop Cooling System, we still found the handset became warm to the touch. However, that\u2019s a compromise we can expect from such a compact phone.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Winner: Xiaomi 15<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Software and AI<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>NothingOS is an almost entirely bloat-free Android skin<\/li>\n<li>Xiaomi\u2019s HyperOS skin, on the other hand, includes a lot of unwanted apps<\/li>\n<li>Xiaomi 15 includes some AI tools like Gemini and Circle to Search<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>NothingOS is easily one of our most favourite Android skins, as it\u2019s not only easy to customise but it\u2019s almost entirely bloat-free, which means it doesn\u2019t come installed with a bunch of pointless apps. It\u2019s a different story with Xiaomi\u2019s HyperOS skin.<\/p>\n<p>\n        Advertisement    <\/p>\n<p>HyperOS firstly seems to draw inspiration from iOS, which instantly makes the handset feel less like a raw Android performer. Plus, it comes with heaps of bloatware which includes a second app store, AliExpress, Booking.com and many, many more.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Xiaomi 15 is also equipped with lots of Google\u2019s AI features, including Circle to Search and Gemini. There\u2019s also photo editing tools, which we think are the most genuinely useful AI-powered functions.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Nothing, on the other hand, offers a handful of AI tools and how useful they are will depend on your own opinion. These tools include <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trustedreviews.com\/opinion\/essential-space-big-nothing-phone-3a-feature-4594894\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Essential Space<\/a>, which is similar to Google\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trustedreviews.com\/explainer\/pixel-screenshots-4550560\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Pixel Screenshots<\/a>, and uses AI to organise and summarise your notes and content in one handy place.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"820\" height=\"461\" data-lazy-type=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Nothing-Essential-Space-2-820x461.jpg\" alt=\"Nothing Essential Space\" class=\"lazy lazy-hidden wp-image-578640\"\/>Essential Space. Similarly, Nothing is also launching the new Essential Search tool, which is a \u201csmart search bar\u201d that allows you to search across your contacts, photos, files and more.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Finally, the Xiaomi 15 has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trustedreviews.com\/explainer\/what-is-chatgpt-4297405\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">ChatGPT<\/a> integration built-into the software too, although this only applies if you have the tool installed in the first place.<\/p>\n<p>\n        Advertisement    <\/p>\n<p><strong>Winner: Nothing Phone 3<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Battery Life<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Xiaomi 15 has a slightly higher battery capacity at 5240mAh<\/li>\n<li>Xiaomi 15 supports 90W wired and 50W wireless charging speeds<\/li>\n<li>Neither are two-day devices<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>While we found the Nothing Phone 3 isn\u2019t quite a two-day battery, its 5150mAh capacity is undoubtedly enough to comfortably see you through even the busiest of days with some charge left.<\/p>\n<p>The Xiaomi 15\u2019s battery capacity is slightly higher at 5240mAh, and we found it ended days easily with at least 50% left in the tank. Again, like the Phone 3, this doesn\u2019t quite work as a two-day handset but it will alleviate battery anxiety.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Charging speeds are what really separates the two phones. While the Phone 3 supports 65W wired and 15W wireless speeds, the Xiaomi 15 boasts 90W HyperCharge wired and 50W HyperCharge wireless. However, with both handsets, you\u2019ll need compatible chargers to benefit from these speeds.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Winner: Xiaomi 15<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\n        Advertisement    <\/p>\n<p>Verdict<\/p>\n<p>With its mighty Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, reliable Leica camera hardware and a compact design, the Xiaomi 15 is a brilliant all-rounder for most users. Plus, its super fast charging speeds means you will rarely struggle with battery anxiety.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, if you want a phone that stands out from the crowd and sports a much larger display, then the Nothing Phone 3 is an easy choice.
