Happy Thursday,<\/strong><\/p>\n

Anime played an important role in my childhood. When I was younger, I spent most \u2014 if not all \u2014 of my afternoons binge-watching episodes of TV shows \u201cFairy Tail,\u201d \u201cAttack on Titan\u201d and \u201cDragon Ball Z.\u201d I even attended my fair share of Fan Expo conventions in Dallas.\u00a0<\/p>\n

I\u2019m not as obsessed with anime as I once was, but I\u2019m tuning in to some screenings at the Anime at the Modern Film Festival<\/a> this weekend.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, which has hosted the festival since 2012, will showcase five Japanese films to highlight the range of 21st-century anime. Find out more about the movies featured in this year\u2019s lineup below.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Experience the intricate storytelling of anime on the silver screen<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

The anime films included in this year\u2019s festival are \u201cMillennium Actress,\u201d \u201cA Silent Voice,\u201d \u201cThe Colors Within,\u201d \u201cGhost Cat Anzu,\u201d and \u201cThe Place Promised in Our Early Days.\u201d<\/p>\n

What:<\/strong> Anime at the Modern Film Festival 2025<\/p>\n

When: <\/strong>7 p.m. Aug. 22; 1 p.m., 4:30 p.m. Aug. 23; 12:30 p.m., 3 p.m. Aug. 24<\/p>\n

Where:<\/strong> Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, 3200 Darnell St., Fort Worth<\/p>\n

Admission: <\/strong>$7-$10<\/strong><\/a> per screening; <\/strong>$45<\/strong><\/a> for weekend pass<\/strong><\/p>\n

Explore Near Southside\u2019s myriad venues for art<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Community lovers and art patrons are invited to explore several art galleries and local businesses in south Fort Worth. Participating venues include South Barbershop, Hao\u2019s Grocery & Caf\u00e9 and the Episcopal Diocese of Texas.\u00a0<\/p>\n

What:<\/strong> Third Thursday Art Walk<\/p>\n

When: <\/strong>6-8 p.m. Aug. 21<\/p>\n

Where: <\/strong>South Main Village, Near Southside Fort Worth<\/p>\n

Admission: <\/strong>Free<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Boot up for the biggest country music hits of the \u201990s<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

The tribute band will perform hits from Garth Brooks, George Strait, Tim McGraw, Shania Twain and The Chicks. The traveling show was started in 2012 by a group of friends in Dallas. <\/p>\n

What: <\/strong>Straight Tequila Night \u2013 The Original Tribute to \u201990s Country<\/p>\n

When: <\/strong>9 p.m. Aug. 23<\/p>\n

Where: <\/strong>Tannahill\u2019s Tavern & Music Hall, 122 E. Exchange Ave., Fort Worth<\/p>\n

Admission: <\/strong>$35<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Twist and shout to a tribute concert of the Beatles greatest hits<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Step back in time to experience the magic of the Fab Four as a tribute band journeys through their musical catalog. The show will feature authentic costumes and vintage instruments. <\/p>\n

What: <\/strong>Hard Night\u2019s Day: A Tribute to The Beatles<\/p>\n

When: <\/strong>3 p.m., 7 p.m. Aug. 23<\/p>\n

Where: <\/strong>Palace Arts Theatre, 300 S. Main St., Grapevine<\/p>\n

Admission: <\/strong>$44<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Start your week with some relaxing sound waves under the stars<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Se7en Waves Sound Vibes is offering a sound bath \u2014 no towels needed \u2014 to help rejuvenate you before your workweek starts. The sounds of singing bowls, gongs, chimes, drums and other instruments will fill the theater and refresh your spirit. <\/p>\n
