JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2014 It was a chaotic morning for people living in Jacksonville\u2019s Hogan\u2019s Creek neighborhood. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt was about 6:30 in the morning, and I was just leaving for work, and all the roads around here were blocked off,\u201d said David Temple, who lives in Hogan\u2019s Creek.<\/p>\n
Jacksonville Sheriff\u2019s Office(JSO) says they got a call at 3 a.m. about a fight inside a house at the 800th block of 18th Street West\u2013 and that someone may have died. <\/p>\n
When they arrived, they said they were told that the suspect and a witness may be inside the house. <\/p>\n
>>> STREAM ACTION NEWS JAX LIVE <\/b><\/a><\/p>\n \u201cThe home was surrounded by patrol officers, and the JSO SWAT team and Hostage negotiator responded to the area,\u201d said Sgt. Robbie Hinson with the JSO Homicide Unit. <\/p>\n JSO says that after trying to make contact with anybody inside the house, the home was cleared by JSO\u2019s SWAT team. And that\u2019s when they found a dead body inside.<\/p>\n JSO says the victim was an adult.<\/p>\n \u201cAt this time, we don\u2019t know the circumstances of the incident or the relationships with those involved,\u201d Sgt. Hinson said. \u201cAnd for that, we\u2019re going to leave the incident classified as pending until we find out some more information.\u201d<\/p>\n Sgt. Hinson said JSO suspects some foul play in this incident.<\/p>\n The roommate of the victim, Christopher Hedges, spoke to Action News Jax\u2019s Madison Foglio.<\/p>\n Hedges says the victim was 80 years old.<\/p>\n He also said he wasn\u2019t home when this all happened, but he says he was one of the people who identified the body.<\/p>\n Christopher Hedges describes the victim as a good friend and describes what he saw the moment he stepped back inside his house.<\/p>\n \u201cThe body was laying on the floor when we came inside the house,\u201d said Hedges. \u201cIt\u2019s sad, it\u2019s really sad.\u201d<\/p>\n Hedges said he spoke with JSO investigators just before speaking with us.<\/p>\n
