Saturday will bring a 40% chance for showers and storms. <\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\"><b>LIVE RADAR:<\/b> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.click2houston.com\/news\/2025\/08\/22\/live-radar-heavy-downpours-prepare-to-soke-houston-area-as-weekend-kicks-off\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.click2houston.com\/news\/2025\/08\/22\/live-radar-heavy-downpours-prepare-to-soke-houston-area-as-weekend-kicks-off\/\">Heavy downpours prepare to soak Houston area as weekend kicks off<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">A stubborn boundary stretched along I-10 is once again expected to spark strong thunderstorms, making for another active weather day.<\/p>\n<p><b>This Evening\u2019s Forecast:<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">As we head into the evening, shower and storm chances will start to wind down. Roads will still be wet in many areas. Thanks to the cloud cover and rain cooled air, it may be a really comfortable night ahead. <\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\"><b>Check out the radar below: <\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Flood risk across most of Southeast Texas<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">With repeated rounds of slow-moving storms, much of Southeast Texas is under a heightened flood risk. The <b>KPRC 2 Weather Team<\/b> points to the same boundary that\u2019s been fueling storms as the trigger for the increased flooding threat. The flood risk area covers almost all of Southeast Texas, as Saturday will also see a chance for heavy rain<\/p>\n<p>Rainfall totals through the weekend (Copyright 2025 by KPRC Click2Houston &#8211; All rights reserved.)<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">While significant flooding wasn\u2019t reported with these recent storms, conditions remain favorable for flooding due to the slow nature of these thunderstorms. <\/p>\n<p><b>Weekend Forecast:<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">On Saturday, rain chances are 60% with temperatures in the mid-90s and another round of downpours likely as the boundary continues to stall across the coastline. Sunday and Monday looks quieter with just a 20% chance of an afternoon sea breeze storm.<\/p>\n<p>Weekend Forecast<b>TRACKING THE TROPICS: Hurricane Erin: <\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Erin is quickly moving away from the United States but rough seas and dangerous rip current will affect the east coast Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Hurricane Erin path (Copyright 2025 by KPRC Click2Houston &#8211; All rights reserved.)<b>A lot to watch in the Atlantic but nothing impactful just yet:<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">There is a 70 percent chance the red system below will strengthen into Tropical Storm Fernand in the next two days, it will follow a similar path as Erin but farther to the east. <\/p>\n<p>Tropical Outlook (Copyright 2025 by KPRC Click2Houston &#8211; All rights reserved.)<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Another tropical wave southeast of this has a 40% chance of development and could head on a more westerly path toward the Windward Islands by next Tuesday.
