The cast of \u201cDawson\u2019s Creek\u201d<\/a> is reuniting after more than 20 years for a one-night-only event on Broadway. But tickets are already sold out.<\/p>\n

Stars of the late 1990s teen drama are all set to appear at a charity event on Sept. 22 at New York City\u2019s Richard Rodgers Theatre for a live reading of the series\u2019 first episode to support James Van Der Beek, who is battling colorectal cancer<\/a>, and benefit the nonprofit F Cancer.<\/p>\n

Tickets ranging from $199 to $2,500 reportedly sold out in 12 minutes<\/a> when they went on sale Friday morning.<\/p>\n

Michelle Williams, Katie Holmes, Joshua Jackson, Mary Beth Peil, John Wesley Shipp, Mary-Margaret Humes, Nina Repeta, Kerr Smith, Meredith Monroe and Busy Philipps and Van Der Beek are all confirmed to gather in front of a live audience for the first time since the popular seaside set series wrapped in 2003.<\/p>\n

\u201cDawson\u2019s Creek,\u201d about a group of friends in a fictional Massachusetts town, originally aired for six seasons and launched the careers of many of the young actors who appeared on the show.<\/p>\n

While Philipps, Smith and Monroe were not in the original \u201cDawson\u2019s Creek\u201d pilot episode, they plan to read \u201cvarious roles\u201d during the live event. Series creator Kevin Williamson is also on board with the reunion as a producer.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am so excited to reunite with James, Michelle, Katie, Joshua, and our \u2018Dawson\u2019s Creek\u2019 family for such a special night. \u2018Dawson\u2019s Creek\u2019 changed my life,\u201d Williamson said in the announcement. \u201cWhat began as a personal story about a young man and his friends navigating their way through the challenges of life became so much more than I ever dreamed. It created an enduring fandom and legacy all over the world. I am so honored to be a part of it and to support our beautiful friend, James, as we continue to navigate our way through life and its many challenges.\u201d<\/p>\n

Van Der Beek, who played the titular character Dawson Leery from 1998 to 2003, opened up about his stage 3 colorectal cancer diagnosis in November 2024. At the time, the actor revealed he had been \u201cprivately dealing with this diagnosis and have been taking steps to resolve it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s reason for optimism, and I\u2019m feeling good,\u201d he told People magazine.<\/p>\n

Williams, the five-time Oscar-nominated actress, is married to Tony Award winner Thomas Kail<\/a> \u2014 the director of \u201cHamilton,\u201d which plays at the Richard Rodgers Theatre<\/a>. The \u201cDawson\u2019s Creek\u201d reunion will take place on a Monday when the regular production is off.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe grew up in Capeside, and that\u2019s a bond that will last a lifetime,\u201d Williams said. \u201cWe wanted to gather around our dear friend James and remind him that we are all here. We always have been and we always will be.\u201d<\/p>\n
