I am always so impressed by the stunning weather photography we get sent, but the most astounding photos are always the lightning photos! To capture lightning on your camera is either incredibly lucky, or you had a lot of patience and care! Regardless of how you shot them, we love to see it! Below you can see lightning in League City that was sent in by \u201cWEEinthecity.\u201d They said \u201cThe view was great and the blowing wind felt wonderful.\u201d<\/p>\n

Look how cool this damage photo is from Houston! Zelly in Champions East snapped this photo of a tree \u201cwolverine sighting or lightning?\u201d In the photo you can see the lightning scar, or Lichtenberg figure that was created by the millions of volts of electricity as it flowed down the trunk before being grounded in the earth. So cool! Did you know lightning is 50,000 degrees Fahrenheit<\/p>\n

It\u2019s no secret the weather team loves to stare at the clouds and identify them, so it should come as no surprise one of our favorite post-storm coverage activities is looking at all of the cloud photos in Click2Pins after the event! We have seen so much rainfall lately! Over the last few days we\u2019ve seen on average 2-4\u2033 of rain, but some locations have seen even higher totals! At times, our rainfall rate is so high it feels like you\u2019re in a tropical rainforest. Here\u2019s a look at how a lot of our roads looked like this week.<\/p>\n
