<\/p>\nLOS ANGELES (KABC) — A driver in a vehicle that was reported stolen stopped to get gas while leading law enforcement on a high-speed chase through the Los Angeles area on Friday night.<\/p>\n
The chase began before 10 p.m. in the Wilshire area. Police said the dark blue Infinity 250 sedan was reported stolen.<\/p>\n
The driver traveled at speeds up to 100 mph at times. The suspect also drove recklessly, weaving through other cars and driving on the shoulder.<\/p>\n
Eventually, officers on the ground and the police helicopter overhead pulled off the chase. AIR7 kept following the suspect as he stopped for gas at a Shell gas station at Imperial Highway and Long Beach Boulevard in Lynwood.<\/p>\n
The suspect looked right into AIR7’s camera as he covered his face while pumping gas.<\/p>\n

After filling up, the chase continued. The suspect immediately began speeding and driving recklessly again, and soon, City of Bell police officers started following close behind.<\/p>\n
As the dangerous chase continued, officers once again pulled back, putting some distance between them and the driver.<\/p>\n
Throughout the chase, the driver was on the 105 Freeway, 110 Freeway, 710 Freeway and the 10 Freeway, in addition to surface streets in many areas.<\/p>\n
The pursuit came to an end when the suspect bailed on foot under the 10 Freeway overpass at Alameda Street near the Fashion District — out of sight of the police chopper and AIR7 overhead.<\/p>\n
The vehicle he was driving rolled into a light pole, and the driver was nowhere in sight.<\/p>\n
At least check, the driver was still not in custody. Police believe he was picked up by another driver or possibly carjacked another driver in an SUV.<\/p>\n
