(WITN) &#8211; A Jacksonville woman is being accused of setting her boyfriend\u2019s house on fire. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Onslow County deputies say they were called to a home at 2052 Countrywood Drive for a report of a fire around 8 p.m. Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Deputies say they met with the owner of the home, Deshaun Middleton, who said he was asleep when the fire started and woke up to the blaze.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Middleton told deputies he and his girlfriend, 25-year-old Arielle Payton, were the only people in the home and were both asleep at the time. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Deputies say Payton wasn\u2019t at the home when they got there, but she was later found and arrested on unrelated outstanding warrants.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">After further investigation, deputies found probable cause to charge Payton in connection with the fire. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Payton is being charged with malicious use of explosive or incendiary, two counts of simple assault and second-degree trespassing. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">She was given a $43,750 secured bond and is being held at the Onslow County Detention Center.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The Onslow County Sheriff\u2019s Office says the investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2025 WITN.
