{"id":16909,"date":"2025-06-26T18:00:14","date_gmt":"2025-06-26T18:00:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/16909\/"},"modified":"2025-06-26T18:00:14","modified_gmt":"2025-06-26T18:00:14","slug":"saisd-announced-541m-budget-for-2025-26-school-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/16909\/","title":{"rendered":"SAISD announced $541M budget for 2025-26 school year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SAN ANTONIO \u2014 San Antonio Independent School District (SAISD) has adopted a $541.1 million budget that will go toward employee raises and shrinking the existing budget deficit.<\/p>\n<p>The district is slated to spend $21.5 million on raises for the 2025-26 school year. The budget includes a $14 million fund approved earlier this year to raise wages for employees including teachers, auxiliary personnel and paraprofessionals.<\/p>\n<p>According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/sanantonioreport.org\/saisd-adopts-541-1m-budget-raises-teacher-pay-and-shrinks-deficit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">San Antonio Report<\/a>, district chief financial officer Dottie Carreon says the budget will likely be amended as more details about the interpretation of House Bill 2 become available.<\/p>\n<p>HB 2, which Gov. Greg Abbott signed in early June, will give public education funding in Texas an $8.5 billion boost.
