Rick Reilly is putting his money where his mouth is when it comes to his claim that Donald Trump is a golf cheat.<\/p>\n
Reilly, who wrote a book titled, \u201cCommander in Cheat: How Golf Explains Trump,\u201d reshared a post on X recently from Daily Beast reporter Leigh Kimmins McManus. <\/p>\n
\u201cI asked the White House to comment on accusations of Trump cheating at golf, using @ReillyRick\u2019s analysis as an example,\u201d McManus wrote. \u201cComms director Steven Cheung went nuclear: \u2018Reilly is a washed up, pathetic loser who has beclowned himself with lies and cheating throughout his career which is why nobody takes him seriously. In fact, he suffers from a debilitating case of Trump Derangement Syndrome that has rotted his golf ball sized brain and can\u2019t stand the countless championships President Trump has won.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019s right, though,\u201d Reilly responded. \u201cTrump does have \u2018countless\u2019 championships. You can\u2019t count them, since they\u2019re all fake. Try to find one at a course he DOESN\u2019T own.\u201d<\/p>\n
Reilly returned to X five hours later with the challenge for the president.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhite House spokesman Steven Cheung says I\u2019m lying about Trump cheating to win his (expletive) \u2018championships,\u2019\u201d Reilly wrote.<\/b> <\/a>\u201cSo, for the next one, let me film Trump the whole way.<\/p>\n \u201cIf he wins without cheating, I\u2019ll give him $100,000.\u201d<\/p>\n Trump has yet to respond to the challenge.<\/p>\n Reilly has been fired up on social media since Trump recently claimed another title \u2014 the Bedminster Senior Club Championship and it was his Aug. 7 X post that prompted McManus\u2019 question at the White House. <\/p>\n \u201cNumber of \u2018championships\u2019 he said he had last time: 24,\u201d Reilly wrote while resharing a video that Trump shared of himself making a put and claiming 36 club championships. \u201cNumber he says he suddenly has now: 36. Number that his twisted ego just skipped: 11. Number of \u2018actual\u2019 championships he\u2019s won: 0. \u201c<\/p>\n There is no evidence that Trump cheated, but he did, in fact, claim the win at his own club once more during the recent tournament at Bedminster. The White House shared the scorecard from the event showing that the president finished atop the field with a gross score of 69.<\/p>\n It continues an impressive streak \u2014 provided the naysayers are not correct about the president fudging things out there \u2014 of winning his own club titles for the president.<\/p>\n Reilly wasn\u2019t buying it, though.<\/p>\n \u201cSo a chubby 79-year-old with the yips whose caddies have to throw it out of bunkers and rough just shot a 69 to win by 10?\u201d he wrote on X. \u201cSure.\u201d<\/p>\n Heading into the event Riley posted on X, \u201cHey Trump, Tomorrow is the Senior Champ at Bedminster. Are you shameless enough to pretend you won it? Even after the whole planet saw you cheat in Scotland? Is your ego that sick?\u201d<\/p>\n Reilly returned to that post on the day of the tournament and wrote, \u201cGuess we got our answer. What a child.\u201d<\/p>\n Reilly later shared a video on X that reportedly showed Trump\u2019s caddy dropping a ball on the course for him at Bedminster during the tournament.<\/p>\n \u201cSo you know, it\u2019s NEVER legal for your caddy to drop a ball,\u201d Reilly wrote. \u201cYOU can drop one, but never on a green. And since this was a full-score event, it\u2019s not legal for Trump to drag the ball into the hole. No, no, never. Our president is a (expletive) golf cheat.\u201d<\/p>\n He also shared another photo of the scorecard shared by the White House and wrote, \u201cThe 4 guys in Trump\u2019s group finished 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th. Trump has a magic pencil.\u201d<\/p>\n It was not just Reilly going after Trump with claims that he cheats on X.<\/p>\n All of this came after Trump was accused of cheating at golf while in Scotland recently.<\/p>\n Video reportedly of the president playing at his Turnberry Course appeared to show his caddy walking ahead of him, leaning down, and dropping a ball before continued to walk on.<\/p>\n Was it cheating? Well, folks on social media seem to think the clip catches the president in the act.<\/p>\n \u201cTrump caught cheating at golf,\u201d Molly Ploofkins wrote on X along with the clip. \u201cWatch the guy in the red vest toss a ball behind him.\u201d<\/p>\n Reilly reshared that post and wrote, \u201cWell I\u2019m just personally very disappointed in him.\u201d<\/p>\n Another person shared the clip and wrote, \u201cThere was a thing in Rick Reilly\u2019s book that said his dad heard Trump say he had lower handicap than Jack Nicklaus.\u201d<\/p>\n Reilly responded to that, \u201cThat\u2019s right. Jack\u2019s handicap is 10 now and Trump continues to fluff up his BS handy to a 2.8, even though he hasn\u2019t reported a score in years. Everybody from Tiger to Annikah to DJ to Ernie Els to Brad Faxon say he\u2019s about \u2018a 10 or 11.\u2019 That doesn\u2019t win club championships.\u201d<\/p>\n The Meidas Touch account shared the video and just wrote, \u201cBusted.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cAmazing how Trump\u2019s ball he hit into the deep rough just magically pops out of his caddie\u2019s pocket and they all just play it off like Trump just hit it there,\u201d Ron Filipkowski wrote on X. <\/b><\/a>\u201c29 time Club Champion!\u201d<\/p>\n Or 36 time club champion.<\/p>\n Whatever the case, the president loves golf and competiting, and there\u2019s now an interesting challenge on the table.<\/p>\n If you purchase a product or register for an account through a link on our site, we may receive compensation.
