Either take these picks as gold or as a sign to pick my losers. But use at your own risk.<\/p>\n<p><img  alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" class=\"lazyload\"\/> <\/p>\n<p>Denny Hamlin drives during the NASCAR Cup Series The Great American Getaway 400\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\">My picks are in bold and the seeding (determined by best finish in the last three races) is in parentheses. Obviously, my matchups beyond the first round are dependent on my picks.<\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\"><strong>FIRST ROUND \u2014 Atlanta<\/strong><\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxsports.com\/nascar\/denny-hamlin-driver\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Denny Hamlin<\/strong><\/a><strong> (1) <\/strong>vs.<strong> <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxsports.com\/nascar\/ty-dillon-driver\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ty Dillon<\/a> (32)<\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\">Hamlin\u2019s results at Atlanta since it became a drafting-style track haven\u2019t been great, but they have been better than Dillon\u2019s.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxsports.com\/nascar\/kyle-busch-driver\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Kyle Busch<\/strong><\/a><strong> (16)<\/strong> vs. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxsports.com\/nascar\/brad-keselowski-driver\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Brad Keselowski<\/a> (17)<\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\">This might be the toughest pick of the entire opening round. But I would go with Busch. He has led 65 laps in the last three races. And he&#8217;s nearly won, as he was part of that incredibly close three-way finish with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxsports.com\/nascar\/daniel-suarez-garza-driver\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Daniel Suarez<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxsports.com\/nascar\/ryan-blaney-driver\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ryan Blaney.<\/a> He has five consecutive top-10 finishes at Atlanta. Keselowski has failed to finish two of the last three.<\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxsports.com\/nascar\/alex-bowman-driver\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alex Bowman<\/a> (8) vs. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxsports.com\/nascar\/joey-logano-driver\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Joey Logano<\/strong><\/a><strong> (25)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\">Sorry, Bowman, but Logano has two wins in his last five Atlanta starts. Of course, like most drafting tracks, his other three finishes aren\u2019t all that great. But Logano typically is the stronger drafting-track racer.<\/p>\n<p><img  alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" class=\"lazyload\"\/> <\/p>\n<p>Joey Logano looks on during qualifying for the NASCAR Cup Series The Great American Getaway 400 at Pocono Raceway\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxsports.com\/nascar\/darrell-wallace-jr-driver\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Bubba Wallace<\/strong><\/a><strong> (9)\u00a0<\/strong>vs. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxsports.com\/nascar\/daniel-suarez-garza-driver\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Daniel Suarez<\/a> (24)<\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\">I know, I know, Suarez won at Atlanta last year. And he has two second-place finishes in the last four races. But Wallace overall has run better this season. Both drivers have immense pressure on them to win and make the playoffs, and whoever handles that pressure the best on Saturday night will prevail.<\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxsports.com\/nascar\/john-hunter-nemechek-driver\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>John Hunter Nemechek<\/strong><\/a><strong> (12)\u00a0<\/strong>vs. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxsports.com\/nascar\/josh-berry-driver\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Josh Berry<\/a> (21)<\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\">Nemechek has more momentum than Berry at the moment and certainly more experience overall at racing in the draft.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxsports.com\/nascar\/chase-elliott-driver\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Chase Elliott<\/strong><\/a><strong> (5)<\/strong> vs. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxsports.com\/nascar\/austin-dillon-driver\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Austin Dillon<\/a> (28)<\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\">You think I\u2019m going to bet against Elliott in his home state? Thought about it considering Dillon\u2019s prowess at drafting tracks, but this track, in particular, has not treated Dillon well.<\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxsports.com\/nascar\/ross-chastain-driver\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Ross Chastain<\/strong><\/a><strong> (13)<\/strong> vs. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxsports.com\/nascar\/erik-jones-driver\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Erik Jones<\/a> (20)<\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\">Both of these drivers have won on drafting tracks in their careers. Chastain has four top 10s at Atlanta in his last 11 starts while Jones has two.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxsports.com\/nascar\/christopher-bell-driver\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Christopher Bell<\/strong><\/a><strong> (4)<\/strong> vs. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxsports.com\/nascar\/ricky-stenhouse-jr-driver\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ricky Stenhouse Jr.<\/a> (29)<\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\">If there was a place to choose Stenhouse, a drafting track would be one. But paired up against Bell, who won at Atlanta in February and finished fourth in this race a year ago? I&#8217;m going with Bell, who ironically has Stenhouse\u2019s former spotter, Tab Boyd, as his new spotter.<\/p>\n<p><img  alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" class=\"lazyload\"\/> <\/p>\n<p>Christopher Bell celebrates after his second win of the 2025 NASCAR season <\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxsports.com\/nascar\/chris-buescher-driver\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Chris Bueshcer<\/strong><\/a><strong> (3)<\/strong> vs. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxsports.com\/nascar\/todd-gilliland-driver\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Todd Gilliland<\/a> (30)<\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\">Buescher gets the nod here. He has been the more consistent driver than Gilliland this season, no matter the track.<\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxsports.com\/nascar\/zane-smith-driver\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Zane Smith<\/a> (14) vs. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxsports.com\/nascar\/austin-cindric-driver\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Austin Cindric<\/strong><\/a><strong> (19)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\">Smith is a solid drafting-track racer. Cindric is a great one and would likely get more help in the draft than Smith.<\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxsports.com\/nascar\/ty-gibbs-driver\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Ty Gibbs<\/strong><\/a><strong> (6)<\/strong> vs. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxsports.com\/nascar\/jj-haley-driver\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Justin Haley<\/a> (27)<\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\">Neither of these drivers can claim great success at Atlanta and Haley is a proven drafting-track racer. But Gibbs has been running better this year and would likely get more manufacturer help from his Toyota brethren.<\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxsports.com\/nascar\/michael-mcdowell-driver\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Michael McDowell<\/strong><\/a><strong> (11)\u00a0<\/strong>vs. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxsports.com\/nascar\/a-j-allmendinger-driver\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">A.J. Alllmendinger<\/a> (22)<\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\">Both of these drivers are solid drafting-track racers, but McDowell has been the better performer this year. At Atlanta earlier this season, McDowell finished 13th and Allmendinger was 14th. McDowell led 57 laps at Atlanta in 2024.<\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxsports.com\/motor\/kyle-larson-2-driver\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kyle Larson<\/a> (10) vs. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxsports.com\/nascar\/tyler-reddick-driver\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Tyler Reddick<\/strong><\/a><strong> (23)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\">Drafting tracks are Larson\u2019s worse tracks, while Reddick seems to have taken to this style of racing. It\u2019s wild to think Larson would get knocked out in the first round, but the seeding and the track make a difference.<\/p>\n<p><img  alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" class=\"lazyload\"\/> <\/p>\n<p>Tyler Reddick waves to fans as he walks onstage during driver intros prior to the NASCAR Cup Series FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\"><strong>Ryan Blaney (7)<\/strong> vs. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxsports.com\/nascar\/carson-hocevar-driver\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Carson Hocevar<\/a> (26)<\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\">Blaney has nine top 10s in his last 10 starts at Atlanta. Hocevar was second at Atlanta in February, but that\u2019s not enough to think he will outperform Blaney again this year.<\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxsports.com\/nascar\/ryan-preece-driver\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ryan Preece<\/a> (15) vs. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxsports.com\/nascar\/william-byron-driver\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>William Byron<\/strong><\/a><strong> (18)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\">Preece doesn\u2019t have a finish better than 16th in a Cup race at Atlanta. Byron won this race two years ago and the spring race in 2022.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\"><strong>Chase Briscoe (2)<\/strong> vs. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxsports.com\/nascar\/noah-gragson-driver\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Noah Gragson<\/a> (31)<\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\">Briscoe has no finish better than 15th in a Cup race at Atlanta. Noah Gragson has a 12th but other than that, he hasn&#8217;t had a finish better than 33rd. Going with the driver coming off his first win of the season (Briscoe).<\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\"><strong>SECOND ROUND \u2014 Chicago Street Course<\/strong><\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\">(Using my predictions from the first round)<\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\"><strong>Denny Hamlin (1)<\/strong> vs. Kyle Busch (16)<\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\">Both are good road-course racers but Hamlin is entering this tournament with all the swagger and all the confidence.<\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\">Bubba Wallace (9) vs. <strong>Joey Logano (25)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\">Wallace has gotten much better at road-course racing and probably should be the pick. So maybe my heart would rather see a Hamlin-Logano matchup in the next round, but Logano seems to be the right choice.<\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\"><strong>Chase Elliott (5)<\/strong> vs. John Hunter Nemechek (12)<\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\">Elliott was third while Nemechek was sixth at Mexico City, so both have shown recently just how good they can be on road courses. Going with Elliott and the organization\u2019s depth at what is still a relatively new course.<\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\"><strong>Christopher Bell (4)\u00a0<\/strong>vs. Ross Chastain (13)<\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\">Bell won at Circuit of the Americas and finished second at Mexico City. Chastain is solid on road courses, but Bell has been better on them this year.<\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxsports.com\/nascar\/chris-buescher-driver\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Chris Buescher<\/a> (3) vs. <strong>Austin Cindric (19)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\">This would be a toss-up, but Cindric has the experience of adapting quickly to road courses. Both drivers have one top 10 in the two Chicago races.<\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\"><strong>Ty Gibbs (6)<\/strong> vs. Michael McDowell (11)<\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\">McDowell would have been the choice here until the race at Mexico City, where Gibbs showed incredible speed. The question is, can he do so with the knowledge of a street circuit with no run-off areas?<\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\">Ryan Blaney (7) vs. <strong>Tyler Reddick (23)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\">Reddick was second at the Chicago street race last year, while Blaney\u2019s best in the two races is 10th. Hate to do this to Blaney, one of the most consistent drivers on the circuit, but I&#8217;m going with Reddick, who would need to shake the current slump to make it happen.<\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\">Chase Briscoe (2) vs. <strong>William Byron (18)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\">This isn\u2019t the upset it appears to be when looking at the seeding. Byron, the series points leader, has two road-course wins in his career. Briscoe still seeks his first top five.<\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\"><strong>QUARTERFINAL ROUND \u2014 Sonoma<\/strong><\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\">(Using my predictions from the first two rounds)<\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\"><strong>Denny Hamlin (1)<\/strong> vs. Joey Logano (25)\u00a0<\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\">Neither of these drivers has won at Sonoma and both have four top-five finishes there. Giving the edge to Hamlin because his recent finishes of 31st, 36th and 38th at the track are such an anomaly. He can\u2019t have a bad day there for a fourth consecutive year.<\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\">Christopher Bell (4) vs. <strong>Chase Elliott (5)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p displaynav=\"true\" class=\"ff-h fs-16 lh-1pt6 mg-b-15 article-content\" data-v-24ed9219=\"\">As mentioned in the previous prediction for Chicago, Bell has a win and a second-place finish on road courses this year. But I\u2019m going with an upset of sorts in this one. Will go with Hamlin based on his three wins this year.
