\n\tDiego Borella, an assistant director on the upcoming fifth season of Emily in Paris<\/a>, has died after collapsing on the set of the Netflix<\/a> show in Venice, Italy.<\/p>\n

\n\tFilming was temporarily suspended after the Italian crew member of the Paramount Television Studios production was pronounced dead at around 7pm on Thursday after he collapsed during preparation for a final scene being shot at Hotel Danieli, according to multiple local outlets.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe are deeply saddened to confirm the sudden passing of a member of the Emily in Paris production family,\u201d a Paramount Television Studios spokesperson said in a statement. \u201cOur hearts go out to the individual\u2019s family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe show\u2019s medical staff attempted to treat Borella, but he died at the scene, likely of \u201ca sudden heart attack,\u201d according to La Repubblica<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tA locally hired 3rd AD on Emily in Paris, Borella previously worked on the medical drama DOC \u2013 Nelle tue mani (DOC \u2013 In Your Hands) in 2022.<\/p>\n

\n\tProduction on Emily in Paris resumed Saturday. Season 5 of the comedy, greenlighted last September,<\/a> started filming in Rome in May before returning to Paris<\/a>, with a few days in Venice scheduled at the tail-end of production.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI think we\u2019ve got a really terrific season coming up,\u201d said Star last month. \u201cWe filmed in Rome for the first four weeks, and that was an exciting experience to be there. Now we\u2019re back in Paris, Emily is definitely back in Paris.\u201d<\/p>\n
