Micah Parsons\u2019 contract standoff with the Cowboys took a bizarre turn thanks to his antics at the team\u2019s final preseason game Friday night.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The two-time All-Pro was seen walking the hall of AT&T Stadium eating nachos before the Cowboys clashed with the Falcons.<\/p>\n
One Atlanta fan yelled for him to join their franchise, to which Parsons made the\u201d call me\u201d gesture.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Things got stranger as Parsons, the only player not in uniform,\u00a0 arrived at the field.<\/p>\n
The 26-year-old linebacker, who is a hold-in during training camp, dressed in a navy hoodie with gray sleeves and was later seen resting on the medical table as the Cowboys were on offense.<\/p>\n
Parsons, who is seeking a lucrative multi-year contract extension, explained his actions on social media after the game in response to a post by Dallas sports anchor Mike Leslie saying he was only lying on the table for a \u201crelatively short portion\u201d of the game in an attempt to add some context.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI actually appreciate this. The way media shapes perception and narratives is wild\u2014and if he hadn\u2019t said anything, everyone would\u2019ve just run with it,\u201d Parsons said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019d never disrespect the guys out there fighting for their lives.\u201d<\/p>\n
Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer told reporters he was unaware of what Parsons was doing because he was focused on the game, a 31-13 win.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Parsons did not speak to reporters after the game, but cornerback Trevon Diggs put Parsons\u2019 availability for Week 1 in doubt beyond his contract status.<\/p>\n
Diggs revealed Parsons had an MRI on his back.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cIt depends on how his back feels,\u201d Diggs said. \u201cI know he was real sore this morning. He went and got it checked out. That\u2019s the last thing I heard from him.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
Owner and general manager Jerry Jones has said Parsons\u2019 back issue is just part of the negotiation tactics.<\/p>\n
Jones addressed the contract stalemate and Parsons\u2019 trade request Friday.<\/p>\n

He said they don\u2019t plan on trading Parsons<\/a>, calling any talk of it \u201cBS.\u201d<\/p>\n
He put some of the blame on Parsons\u2019 agent David Mulugheta, saying he told the Cowboys to stick their offer \u201cup our ass.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n
\u201cWe were going to send it (an offer) over to the agent and the agent said don\u2019t bother because we\u2019ve got all that to negotiate,\u201d Jones said on Michael Irvin\u2019s podcast. \u201cWell, I\u2019d already negotiated. I\u2019d already moved off my mark on several areas. And so, the issue is frankly that we already had the negotiation in my mind, and now the agent is trying to stick his nose in it.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mulugheta said that \u201cnever happened\u201d to ESPN\u2019s Ryan Clark.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is just another public way to make this situation, which is already ugly, even uglier,\u201d Clark said in a video posted to X.<\/a> \u201cDavid Mulugheta in no way has ever told Jerry Jones or any other general manager or owner that. It\u2019s all bull crap. It\u2019s all lies.\u201d<\/p>\n
Parsons is set to play on his $24 million fifth-year rookie contract option this season and is likely seeking a deal similar to T.J. Watt\u2019s three-year, $123 million pact with the Steelers.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Cowboys could franchise tag him for the next two seasons to keep him from hitting free agency.<\/p>\n
