He was 47.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tBorella reportedly collapsed on set while the series was filming season five in Venice, Italy, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cWe are deeply saddened to confirm the sudden passing of a member of the Emily in Paris production family,\u201d a Paramount Television Studios spokesperson said in a statement to THR. \u201cOur hearts go out to the individual\u2019s family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tBorella was announced dead at around 7:00 p.m. local time on Thursday, Aug. 21, according to multiple outlets. The tragedy happened while the crew was preparing to film a final scene inside Hotel Danieli in Venice. Medical staff was sent to try to revive Borella; however, he died at the scene of \u201ca sudden heart attack,\u201d the\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.repubblica.it\/serietv\/netflix\/2025\/08\/22\/news\/diego_borella_morto_set_emily_in_paris_venezia-424802580\/?callback=in&amp;code=MGMYOWEXNJUTMTMWZI0ZZDZMLTG0ZTYTNZG2ZDUWYMEYZJFK&amp;state=cd4f0a5f078641f3ac2cb2f66165925b\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">La Repubblica<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tEarlier this week, Netflix unveiled the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/tv\/tv-features\/emily-in-paris-season-5-first-look-venice-1236348767\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">first-look images<\/a> at Emily in Paris season five, which stars Lily Collins and will release on the streamer on Dec. 18.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe synopsis reads: \u201cNow the head of Agence Grateau Rome, Emily faces professional and romantic challenges as she adapts to life in a new city. But just as everything falls into place, a work idea backfires, and the fallout cascades into heartbreak and career setbacks. Seeking stability, Emily leans into her French lifestyle until a big secret threatens one of her closest relationships.
