A red-hot<\/a> NYC restaurant<\/a> group<\/a> will operate a portion of the hotel and casino restaurants and bars in billionaire New York Mets owner Steve Cohen\u2019s forthcoming mixed-use development surrounding baseball stadium Citi Field<\/a> in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park, Queens. Major Food Group <\/a>will oversee the restaurants and bars inside the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Metropolitan Park<\/a>, the group\u2019s next location inside the sprawling project that has yet to break ground, with a projected opening year of 2030.<\/p>\n

Outside of Hard Rock\u2019s hotel and casino, Metropolitan Park<\/a> will also include a 30,000-square-foot food hall, Taste of Queens, which will have 20 or so restaurants and food vendors from the borough. It\u2019s a similar concept to the Queens Night Market<\/a>, which operates a stone\u2019s throw away.<\/p>\n

Major Food Group\u2019s restaurant and bar lineup isn\u2019t finalized; the company also isn\u2019t going to run every single dining and drink space in the property. It\u2019s fair to expect a mix of fine-dining and casual. A rep for the development writes to Eater that the hospitality business\u2019s goal is to \u201ccurate food experiences that celebrate Queens as one of the most vibrant and diverse culinary capitals on the planet,\u201d and also notes that chef and co-owner Mario Carbone is from Queens himself<\/a>. <\/p>\n

This is part of Major Food Group\u2019s ongoing partnership with Hard Rock Hotel. The two companies made the partnership official<\/a> in 2024, turning Major Food Group into Hard Rock\u2019s culinary consultant. <\/p>\n

Overall, the Metropolitan Park<\/a> would transform the parking lots around the stadium into a 50-acre mixed-use development, featuring parks and sports fields. The Hard Rock will also include event spaces and a live music venue.<\/p>\n
