Hundreds attended the march and rally in Newcastle today.<\/p>\n

The event was organised in the CBD by the University of Newcastle’s students for Palestine group.<\/p>\n

The march ended in Newcastle’s Civic Park, where city hall stood as a backdrop, as speakers addressed the crowd.<\/p>\n

In Adelaide, thousands of protestors gathered outside Parliament House for today’s March for Palestine. <\/p>\n

Demonstrators marched from Victoria Square through the heart of the city chanting “Free Palestine” and “Sanctions Now” as they were escorted by police. <\/p>\n

Organisers anticipated between two to three thousand demonstrators would attend today’s rally.<\/p>\n

ABC Radio Brisbane reporter Kenji Sato <\/b>snapped a few photos.<\/p>\n

A counter-protester has been escorted away by police after snatching a Palestinian flag from a protester.<\/p>\n

It was apparently in response to a protester grabbing an Australian flag.<\/p>\n

Big turnout prompts change of route in Coffs Harbour\"Claire<\/p>\n

Organisers of the\u00a0Coffs Harbour<\/b>\u00a0rally changed the march route in response to overwhelming numbers on the day.<\/p>\n

Just hours before the march was due to take place, a Gather for Gaza spokesperson said they planned to walk on the footpath of the main street, until hundreds more than the 200 expected arrived at the beach foreshores.<\/p>\n

It’s estimated about 650 people participated.<\/p>\n

Police revise Brisbane attendance estimate to 10,000\"Ned<\/p>\n

Queensland Police Service <\/b>has updated its estimate on the number of people attending the Brisbane rally.<\/p>\n

Organisers were expecting 7,000 people before the rally, which was also the number the police have been saying all day.<\/p>\n

It’s clear there’s a lot more than that, and QPS now says they think it’s about 10,000.<\/p>\n

The organisers are telling us\u00a0 more than 50,000 people are marching in Brisbane this afternoon.<\/p>\n

One of the primary grievances of protesters is that Australia sells items with military use to Israel.<\/p>\n

The government says it does not sell weapons to Israel, but it’s a bit murkier than that.<\/p>\n

It’s still unclear how many people have turned out in Brisbane today.<\/p>\n

Queensland Police are standing by the number they gave us earlier of 7,000, but as you can see that’s starting to look pretty conservative.<\/p>\n

The organisers’ estimate of 50,000 looks closer to the reality.<\/p>\n

Hundreds take part in Tathra\"Adriane<\/p>\n

In Tathra on the New South Wales Far South Coast<\/b>, more than 500 people took part in a pro-Palestinian march, braving the rain and wind.<\/p>\n

Many protestors hailed from across the Bega Valley Shire, with some having driven over an hour to march.<\/p>\n

Pamela Goddard <\/b>(second from left),<\/b> originally from New York City, has been living in Tathra for the past seven years.<\/p>\n

\n

“I live in Australia, I’m watching what the Albanese government is doing. I’m from America, I’m watching what the Trump government is doing,” she said.<\/p>\n

“I want them to know I don’t support it.”<\/p>\n

“We’re a small community, but we’re a community, and we’re here to let the Palestinians know that we’re behind them.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Amanda Richmond<\/b> from Bega shared a similar sentiment.<\/p>\n

“I feel helpless at what’s happening in Gaza,” she said.<\/p>\n
