BOZEMAN, Mont. – Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks announced the start of the antelope 900 shoulder hunting season, offering hunters a chance to get some early season experience.\u00a0<\/p>\n

However, this special season comes with specific restrictions.<\/p>\n

Hunting is limited to archery, and only certain sections of private land are open for this activity.<\/p>\n

In addition to the antelope season, the elk shoulder season has also started.<\/p>\n

Unlike the antelope season, shoulder season for elk involves firearm hunting aimed at controlling the elk population.<\/p>\n

According to Montana.gov<\/a>, more than 141,000 elk have been counted in the state since 2002.<\/p>\n
