Portland battled the Western Conference leaders in their first-ever MLS meeting, shutting San Diego out at home. It marked the Timbers\u2019 seventh clean sheet of the season and fifth on the road, matching the club\u2019s single season record set in 2015.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Trio of Debuts<\/strong><br \/>The Timbers\u2019 three newest signings \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timbers.com\/players\/kristoffer-velde\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kristoffer Velde<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timbers.com\/players\/felipe-carballo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Felipe Carballo<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timbers.com\/players\/matias-rojas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mat\u00edas Rojas<\/a> \u2013 each made their debuts for the club tonight. It came as the fourth time in club history that three players made their Timbers debut in the same match, and the first time that has occurred midseason.
