(File photo)<\/p>\n<p>There were no arrests for drunk driving at a DUI\/driver\u2019s license checkpoint Friday night in Chula Vista, but several citations were issued, police said Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>The checkpoint was held in the 300 block of East H Street from 6 p.m. to midnight. Eleven citations were issued, six for unlicensed driving or driving on a suspended license, according to Sgt. Anthony Molina of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chulavistaca.gov\/departments\/police-department\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Chula Vista Police Department.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Of the 4,193 vehicles that traveled through the checkpoint, 1,189 were screened and one was impounded, Molina added. Two drivers passed a field sobriety test.<\/p>\n<p>DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. Funding for the checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A DUI checkpoint sign.
