Tarrant County commissioners voted Aug. 19 to cut more than 100 Election Day polling sites and reduce early voting locations for the Nov. 4 election.<\/p>\n
The number of Election Day polls will be 216. In 2023, the county opened 331.<\/p>\n
Tarrant County voters can cast ballots early at 33 early voting locations. That number is down from 44 in 2023. Early voting is Oct. 20-31.<\/p>\n
Elections Administrator Clinton Ludwig told commissioners the initial list of cuts aimed to save about $1 million.<\/p>\n
A new Texas law reduced the minimum Election Day voting locations, a rollback of a 2023 law that called for counties to increase their number of polls.<\/p>\n
