But those purchases can come with regrets.<\/p>\n \u201c<\/strong>I\u2019ve seen retirees buy big SUVs thinking they\u2019ll finally have time for road trips, only to realize they\u2019re burning through savings faster than they\u2019re burning gas,\u201d said Taylor Kovar, certified financial planner (CFP) and CEO of 11 Financial<\/a>. \u201cBetween higher insurance, maintenance and fuel costs, that dream ride can turn into an expensive driveway ornament.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Here\u2019s a look at five SUVs that experts said retirees may regret buying before retirement<\/a>.<\/p>\n Nissan Armada<\/p>\n According to Chris Pyle, an auto expert with JustAnswer<\/a>, retirees might regret buying a Nissan Armada before retirement. He said the interior is designed poorly \u2014 there\u2019s a lot of room inside, but it feels like there\u2019s not because things are laid out poorly. The fuel efficiency<\/a> may also not be great.<\/p>\n GMC Yukon<\/p>\n Pyle also said drivers may regret buying a GMC Yukon before retirement. First, it\u2019s a more expensive option and may quickly depreciate in value. Plus, it can be pretty expensive to insure and may not have great fuel efficiency retirees are seeking.<\/p>\n Volkswagen Touareg<\/p>\n \u201cClients liked the handling and durability, but overall regretted the purchase<\/a>,\u201d said Marguerita Cheng, CFP and CEO of Blue Ocean Global Wealth<\/a>. \u201cThey ended up going Lexus for the future because of the technology features and better reliability.\u201d<\/p>\n Land Rovers<\/p>\n According to Cheng, retirees and other clients were disappointed in their Land Rovers.
